Exactly what I realized I needed just today, yet is something I'd probably not have thought of buying on its own. Thanks guys.

F everyone. Scribbles is neat!
So is anyone concerned at all about the application using restore mode to handle updates to notes, etc.? It makes me wonder how sensitive this application will be to iphone firmware upgrades. I'm going to guess that it's definitely not an approved access mode.
Some details from the manual:
"Rebooting of the Device:
The following PhoneView features require a reboot of the iPhone or iPod Touch:
• Adding, editing, and deleting Notes.
• Deleting Call Log items.
• Deleting SMS items.
During the process of applying changes to Notes, Call Log, and SMS information stored on the device (using the "Apply Changes" button), you will see a message on the iPhone screen stating "Restore in progress" and then "Restore complete". The iPhone will then reboot.
IMPORTANT: Rebooting will interrupt anything you are doing on the device including making a phone call, playing music, or syncing with iTunes."
I didn't realise it uses restore mode for things like note synching. In that case I can just use my own script for syncing over wifi (jailbreak and openssh ftw) as its much less hassle. The transfer of music and videos without iTunes though is what really intrigues me.
Its one of the apps in the bundle that I think I'll end up using quite a bit

Yep. this is one of my favorite things about MacHeist. Apps that you wouldn't have thought of buying, but wind up using. I have even had apps that I downloaded in previous heists, never thinking that I would use them, and wound up installing them six months or a year later.

I really like the pulling music off my iPhone feature. I'll probably get some of the best use out of this app out of all that are available

Looks like you can't delete files from it. I had movie files from a previous sync I was hoping to deleting (don't want to erase and resync as I hav a couple development apps on their that are a pain in the butt to compile and reinstall).

Huge THANK YOU to the people who used my link
Well, it works on 3.0 beta, I know that. (This is a legit beta, I have no clue if it'll work on illegal betas.) I love being able to pull everything off the iPhone. Makes it easier to look at when I'm at my computer, so I don't have to pull my iPhone out.
Awesome. Thanks!
MacHeist 4
Bring it on.
To say that I'm Obsessive/Compulsive about data hoarding would be an understatement of Biblical proportions. Consequently- from day one with my iPhone- I've needed (cough cough) to pull down my SMS messages. At first- this happened by retyping. Then came Mobile Sync Browser. Then Syphone. Then a return to MSB. I have searched high and low for an app that could actually do this WELL-- and finally found it in the MH Bundle. Never would have heard of PhoneView otherwise.
THIS - for me - was the killer app this year. It's a simple thing- but I can't tell you the time it saves. I'll be recommending this to everyone I know with an iPhone.
Diane, this case gives me a strange feeling... this is one of Cole's blue rose cases.
Sadly this app will be of no use to me because I do not have an iphone and will not be having one in the near future, shame.
Definitely my situation too. I might get an iPod touch at somepoint, but would this be of any use???

I love how it saves the archives of text messages locally, so you can search them or delete them off the phone without losing the data. And you can use it to sync notes! Yeah, it's in the 3.0 beta but I don't have that ![]()

I bought this when it was first released as I needed it for ... well, somthing.
The text archiving feature is really cool. I had to restore at some point and was really happy to have the old texts.
Funny that people were asking for an iPhone app to be included in the bundle...Not exactly what they meant but Here It Is.
(edited my crappy spelling)
Okay, it doesn't work with 3.0... Some stuff does, but only sometimes. Oh well. Can't wait to use it once PhoneView is updated. ![]()

FYI, with 2.2 16GB Gen2 iPhone, I set the advanced disk mode in preferences right off the bat, then clicked SMS, and it sat thinking for well over a minute before it came back to life. And I only have 3 SMS entries! I really thought it was frozen... But once it came back to life it was snappy with all entries (well, photos are a little slow). Pretty neat app!

Glen,
I didn't get a serial number with my version of Phoneview. When would I be getting it?

Just say NO to *BSOD*
I'm excited by the ability to move my music from the phone to the computer - has anyone tried that yet? Does this mean that music on my laptop can be transfered via my iphone to my husband's desktop?
Also: it's nice to be able to pull the text off of my SMS and notes. Great bundle pick!

Finally I get to copy and paste my sms's into an email... oh wait I SHOULD be able to do that with 3.0!
Like the disk view, especially if jailbroken, as makes tinkering a breeze!
It's not easy being green.
I wish this decent little app would allow me to write and send SMS directly from it - real keyboard will always be better than virtual one on iPhone : )
you could send a message to the developer and ask for that feature. sound like a good idea!

its not detecting my photos. Is it because they were saved from the web to the ipod touch?
please help?

Question about that suggestion: will it use up your SMS plan? or will it be free?

I guess it's about time I got an iPhone! ![]()

You have to download the file from your Macheist receipt, they have a separate download for the paid version.

Recently, I *accidentally* formatted my hard drive on my macbook. No backup. One apparent loss was having lost all my contacts in address book. Luckily, I bought the bundle, and using Phoneview, I got all my contacts back from my iPod touch. Thanks phoneview!

I'd love to see phoneview give me the ability to see (and save out, if need be) the photos I've taken for phone contacts. They are stored somewhere, but it isn't the normal camera area. And somehow, some of my best photos of friends were taken for the contact list and now I can't get at them. ![]()
Other than that, I actually have enjoyed this app. Very useful.

The update procedure is indeed 'different', but not difficult.
All you need to do is keep a WebLoc file of the URL they give you, from where you can download the full application. (I.e. drag out the site icon from the browser's URL to disk - or wherever - to store the location, or simply bookmark it if you always use the same browser. Lots of ways to keep the info...)
Revisit the page in future and it'll let you know if there's a newer version than the one you last downloaded, for any of the apps from that company. I've personally got three of their apps, and they all appear on my personal page. (I got their DockStar in a bundle and have never used it, but I've also got their Call Recorder for Skype. That's brilliant, and I use it all the time.)
Cheers!

I said the update procedure was "weird", as in odd, out of the ordinary, unusual. I didn't find it difficult either. In fact from v2.2 onwards it become irrelevant anyway as the app now detects updates, as it did this morning when I got an update to v2.2.1
