This year's final tally of $850,000 raised for our participating charities sets a new record for MacHeist.
Just like previous years, we offered you a choice of where your money would go. This is how it broke down (each sum rounded to the nearest dollar, numbers adjusted/finalized to account for resolved overcharges):
Save the Children: $118,031
Prevent Cancer Foundation: $112,043
World Wildlife Fund: $93,850
AIDS Research Alliance: $87,686
The Nature Conservancy: $83,581
Save Darfur: $79,278
Action Against Hunger: $77,121
Humane Society International: $74,091
Direct Relief International: $65,749
Alliance for Climate Protection: $58,572
MacHeist (to top it off): $10,455 (split evenly)
Total: $850,000
We kid about saving the world on our homepage, but over the year, your donations (an astronomical sum during times when donations are running thin) will be spent on slowly but surely making this world a better and brighter place.
Now, until we bust this record again the next time, give yourselves a pat on your back. You deserve it. ![]()

dude that's awesome.... glad to throw in and glad there's that much going for good causes.
get some
It feels great. Knowing only $40 a person was enough to raise that much money for charity.
Awesome! I'm quite happy about all this charity money being thrown around.

Being a small part of MacHeist always felt good; with this news it feels great. Thank you for giving us the chance to be a part of this.

I love it. I am using several of the bundled apps with success.
I think you are quite inspired. Your method may become a
new model for software distribution. it certainly has breathed
some fresh air into my application folder!
I am eagerly looking forward to your next offering!
Thanks for the software, the savings, and the charitable
outlook.

Joking apart. Good job everybody!
Great to see the figures - awesome job all!
Btw Phill the link to "Save the children" seems wrong.
I am not an agent in real life, only on weekends!
Phill, Just a thought for next year. Perhaps you could find some one to match the MH donation next time I know often times this happens in charitable situations. But you could be looking at 2-3 million for charity with a large matching donation. If I had the money I'd do it. Apple might me a good place to start.

Hmmm, bundle closes Tues. night, blooper video Wed. night, and charity breakdown Thurs. night. I guess that means we have to wait until Friday for the points explanation?
Now that that's out of the way, it is really awesome to see so much going to charity. But I would buy the bundles if they didn't, so it's just a bonus. I don't really feel like I participated in that though. I bought the bundle because I wanted the apps at a screamin' good price. It's MacHeist that donated part of their proceeds to charity. I just bought a bundle.

Any chance that we'll be able to donate to Child's Play next year? I think a lot of people would probably choose that (or at least be glad that it's there), seeing as we're more likely to be techie people who like video games... maybe it's just me, but I think it'd be cool to be able to donate to them next year.
It feels great. Knowing only $40 a person was enough to raise that much money for charity.
What is even more amazing was, remember, it was 25% of the bundle price, so that meant $10 or $8 per person, depending on whether you had discounts from doing the Heists.
The breakdown among the charities is also quite interesting - all worthwhile causes but I'm especially happy to see investment in our future generations through the children.
Glad to be part of the experience. Great job everyone! ![]()

I was going to suggest this. I think it would be a great option, but might would garner some criticism.

What would we make if we were allowed to donate our discount as a charity bonus?!!! I would certainly do that.
Such an awesome thing to be part of, although part of me still feels odd when I think how well I did out of it at the same time! Leaves me scratching my head somewhat, sort of eating my cake and giving it to someone else at the same time!!

Wow, what a great amount raised. Kudos to everyone who bought.
Thank you guys for coming up with such a great way to get software, give back and make new friends
Looking forward to the next one!
