Chat is fine. It's been operational all day. We have always been at war with Eastasia.

In all seriousness though, chat really is fine. Try a refresh and let me know if it's still failing for you.

Let me seem to be the first to point out the albedo of the object (reflectivity) suggests that it might be a polished metal surface and thus a space craft of some kind intended to masquerade as an object or rock in space, rather than a craft of extra-terrestrial origin coming to trade, steal, or sell goods, services or software to us/from us.

In which case, we might want to have our giant secret space lasers at the ready, but also our close encounter-like translation thinking hats on as it approaches.

Maybe a giant cricket bat as well!

In retrospect, it was a mistake to add Cheez Whiz to a Hershey bar.

If it's a spaceship, that is going to be one seriously dizzy alien!

Near the rock, at about 4 o'clock, there appears to be another object far behind with fire behind it (looks like it;s in the middle of a star). Could this be the ship "pushing" the other objects toward us as a preemptive attack? Visions of FootFall? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Footfall

If its hollow and the alien is inside. The spinning is exactly what the alien would need to maintain muscle mass. The spinning of the spherical "spaceship" would create an environment with artificial gravity. This gravity is actually due to a constant acceleration and your inertia trying to pull you through the walls of the hollow spherical spaceship.

But i doubt thats the case big_smile

@kiodane: I suspect that's the equivelent of posting code. Not allowed.

It does show though, that I was right. There is a power source behind the rock at 4 o'clock.
