I hate to throw out a couple of pedestrian observations, but 1) the Banner at the top still say MH3 and they haven't clear out the previous loot. 2) the directorate are masters of (among other things) marketing. My guess is that the goal is to get as many people in the ranks as possible before MH4, since joining mid heist would be lame and, speculating here, the number of people who don't do the heist but buy the bundle is relatively low, but those that go through the heist and buy the bundle is extraordinarily high (esp compared to other sites bundles). So my guess is that MH4 hasn't begun, but is very close.
This is definitely not MacHeist 4 yet. I think the fact their own .ics file advertises the event as a nanoBundle.

The heist has been going on since Jan 1st.
It's just been really secret... I take it you didn't know?
FRAK! Why didn't somebody tell me? ![]()
What rhymes with "orange"?
So, besides RipIt and MacJournal, has anyone seen any other icons? Or maybe there'll be different ones each day as we get closer to the nanoBundle sale...?
Still, a sale isn't that exciting without a heist to build up to it, especially if it's nano-sized. I already have Toast 10 + Handbrake and I use blog platforms that aren't usually supported by package softwares like MacJournal, so I'm hoping for something more alluring in this bundle.

If someone were to raid that warehouse and steal all the apps - in the vernacular "to pull a heist" - wouldn't that spark a coordinated effort, one might say a mission, to track down clues leading to the culprits. Just a thought.
Anyway I just want to give props to the site coders. When the page loaded I instantly thought "Urgh, Flash!" I was pleasantly surprised to see it's all done with nice, cross-platform/browser, plug-in free, HTML, CSS and JS. The page even works on iPhone.

Ah, I see everyones back already. Again I hate to be in the wrong timezone, but what can you do.
So, my guess is, this nanobundle serves as a starter for MH4, which (hopefully) will start soon afterwards (my guess is mid march)!
Can't wait! See y'all at MH4!
I just hate pLSV101....

Probably they are not free
My take, RipIt and MacJournal will be given for FREE. The real MacHeist apps are inside the "Top Secret" boxes behind the truck.
Ok, since on one's mentioned it yet...
the first image was called jojo for MacJournal
the second image was rippie for RipIt
Any guess for the third image???
Can't wait to see what you conspiracy theorists come up with ![]()
Oh and Edit (for content and grammar) -
BTW, if you've been here before you've seen the forum postings where the Directorate says the Bundle *won't* be repeats from other sites to keep the bundle special (okay I'm kinda paraphrasing here but you get the idea)
However they did say that there CAN be repeats in the loot and giveaways...
So people, what do you think?

Happy to see it's all kicking off again with another Nanobundle! ![]()
Currently I have both apps (MacJournal & Ripit) from other bundles, will this be the first time I have every app in a bundle already?
Great for the newer Mac users though, Ripit is great and MacJournal has some fans out there (I've never tried it).
Mark.

Looking forward to my first Macheist event!
I have a huge feeling that nanobundle might be free again.
Have the same impression about the nano-bundle (i.e. free) but Im looking forward to this years heist/bundle, so hope that there will be one and it will start soon ![]()
I was curious to know what MacJournal was all about, so I went and visited their site. That's when I found a yellow smiley on one of their product screenshots. If my memory serves me correctly, didn't the last MacHeist involve yellow smileys? Just a thought.
I hate countdown timers.
Doesn't changing the date in your System Preferences speed up the count down? Just a suggestion.

You mean that big yellow smiley on a black background ?

If that's what you meant, I'm sorry to say that's not new. ![]()

I think their Will not be any heist this year... Only a bundle and it won't be free because it says "On sale 2 March"
The last nanoBundle suggested it would cost until they revealed the 'price'. So can't really assume anything. With MacHeist, there's usually a twist.

I hope not!! The heists are by far the best part!!!

Now this is a great idea! I do hope you're right as that would be a great way to get interest going for the actual missions.

Yup. A new app each day, it seems.
Actually it seems like it would be Two-A-Day, there were 2 yesterday/today (depending on where you are in the world)… and with 5 days left they would reveal 10, isn't that the usual amount, with all the "Good Stuff" as unlocks?
This should be interesting, and unless there is some HUGE twist… i don't think there will be any missions this time, just the bundle… but a big one, maybe just bundling in the loot with the normal bundle?
Sorry, gotta say it...

Does anyone know if RipIt has some significant advantages over Handbrake..?
Does anyone know if RipIt has some significant advantages over Handbrake..?
I don't know if Handbrake can, but RipIt can remove copy protection.
They are not really comparable, I think RipIt only exports to one format. It's not the same thing as Handbrake.

I think they are trying to unload the same boxes all the time. I marked one of the boxes and it appeared again and again. MH staff should go check their warehouse and see if it really fills upp.

Handbrake doesn't handle that task, it passes it off to VLC. I was wondering the same of Ripit vs FairMount instead (FairMount does the same thing)... FairMount failed on my copy of "Up" (a known troublemaker), I am going to give it a try with the Ripit Demo now... It worked, and Handbrake can work off the results!
I guess the big advantage is the next time a troublemaker disc comes out, RipIt is pretty likely to handle it but with VLC on the Mac dying... you may be stuck.

RipIt creates an entire copy of the DVD - all the menus, extras, etc. This can produce very large files, but then you can run the DVD without it being present in the drive. It is also much faster than Handbrake, and simpler to operate, basically one button.
Handbrake works on individual files and has tremendous flexibility in output formats, there are presets for output to iPhone, Apple TV, etc, You can use an image ripped with RipIt to Handbrake to convert to these formats. I have never had a DVD that Handbrake couldn't rip, although I have heard that they do exist.

Basically RipIt does the same as MacTheRipper, with one exception - it only rips the entire disc. As for the format, you can rip to a video_TS folder OR add the .dvdmedia extension and then dvdplayer.app treats it like a dvd disc.
I was so exited when I saw the tweets. But than I came here and it´s a nano bundle.I want a real heist!
