Funny how it was RapidWeaver that got unlocked, yet it's Tweetie that got new discussion and support threads.

I suspect at we'll see Tweetie within the hour.  The number is rapidly approaching 5,678!

... So where do you put the serial # I'm just prompted to enter a username and password, but no button to register/activate.

N/m seems it was asking for a twitter login. It just had nothing on it but "Username" and "Password", and after the CoverScout run of fun, I thought I had to register.

Once you've launched the App, go to Tweetie>Registration,
Type in your email, paste in the serial, and it autosubmits.

The Tweetie registration window has two fields: email and serial number. Just type in the email you used to sign up at MacHeist, or the email provided on your receipt page (if it was given).

/facepalm. That’s where you type your username and password for Tweetie smile Go to Tweetie > Registration to register if a popup doesn’t come up again (this one will be way bigger).

My Tweetie registration won't work. I get "can't authorize." I've tried it several times. Tweetie was an addition after I purchased, yet if I go to my receipt page, I do see a registration number. That's the one I tried. And yup, it does say password in the bottom field.

Registration is greyed out, can't do it. I also disabled block popups in Safari, still doesn't come up.

I keep getting the message
"An SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made."
when I try and login to tweetie.
As a side note, I fairly often have problems logging in in Safari with my username - email address works just fine!
Any ideas?

EDIT: take that back, now having problems with my email address in Safari too! - comes up with a Safari Error page stating "Safari can’t open the page “https://twitter.com/sessions” because Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “twitter.com”."

I'm also getting the same thing - Tried to reach out the developers over at atebits and got no response And now I'm also getting an error message which reads "bad request. rate limit exceed..." anytime I try to reload my tweets.  Would this happen in the paid version? hmm

anyone else getting "bad request. rate limit exceeded.."?
i woke up to this. seeing as how i don't use twitter while i'm sleeping, i'm not too sure how i can exceed the limit.. i can get the twitters just fine on my iphone using echofon, which if i'm understanding this whole API thing, i shouldn't be able to. (right?)
so it's a problem between tweetie & twitter.
the only problem is, i can find lots of other people with this same issue, but no solutions. i also can't find a way to contact the developers of tweetie, it just redirects me to twitter. um, they don't support 3rd party apps.
this is kind of annoying since i paid for it.

am i missing something painfully obvious? (highly possible)
should i make my morning pot of coffee before surfing the intertubes? (probably)

Just to clarify, when an Application gives you an error about an API Rate Limit, it because the service can only send and receive X amount of API calls to the service per hour. Because of the world cup and Twitter popularity, Twitter cut API rates in half, meaning applications can make half as many API calls in that hour. API calls are application specific, so by switching to another client, you won't get those errors until you reach that limit again.

My suggestion for you is to change the setting on your twitter client to refresh less often.

hey thanks for your response!
i checked the settings and i don't seem to be able to change the refresh setting. it's still strange because both times it happened was while i was sleeping. i wasn't even on my computer! plus it goes to sleep after a couple of hours.
i thought the api limit was a blanket one for my account, didn't realize it was app specific. thanks for clearing that up.
i don't pay attention to the world cup stuff, but heard today is the last game. oh boy i hope so... i'll just sit tight and keep an eye on things.

Tweetie won't let you change the refresh rate. Been like that since ver 1.0.

Also, @matt Tweetie has never had that feature.

Got an email about tweetie 2 being the official twitter client for Mac, and that my license from tweetie would unlock extended features in twitter for Mac, but my license/email combo keeps getting rejected.

Any Ideas?  Thanks!

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Tweetie will not authenticate for me.  I am trying to validate with my twitter name and the password from macheist nano bundle two as stated in today's email. Can someone help please?
My email address does not have any odd characters but that is not my login regardless. I have tried my name, email and twitter name--none work. I think it's the serial number that keeps getting rejected. There error message is: "unauthorized. could not authenticate you." Thank you.

I just put a piece of paper in and let my brain bleed onto the page.

Hi, I just got your email about the secret release of Tweetie 2 beta for Mac, and tried to press down ctr+opt+cmd when I opened the help window, like it said in the email, but nothing at all is happening. Is it possible that you can help me a little more so I can get the app for my Mac?

When you hit the three-keys with the menu drop-down open, the last entry in the list changes to  "Macheist Secret Stuff"  which, if you keep the three keys down, you can click on to enter the dialog.

same here, I don't see any change in the help menu entries. It does not make any difference, if I hit the keys before after after clicking the menu.

Anyone else not getting their avatar showing up in the Twitter app? I just get a blank square but if I hover over that section my account email hovers near the cursor as normal.

Tried re-uploading my avatar but no luck. Can't seem to find a support forum for the app either, just the general FAQ that didn't help.
