At the beginning of the year, the promo people from Aqua Teen Hunger Force put up basically Light Brights all over Boston with the image of the "mooninites" (the aliens from the moon) on them. It created a big bomb scare. Here's the link to the Boston.com story:

Do you ... by coincidence ... know the phone there?

If there's no callable phone maybe the internet café has a message.
Could that be possible?

This whole waiting for a secret message by a pay phone was bound to get one of us arrested.  I like the mailing thing better and at least Ben Franklin was a real person. I know, hindsight is 20/20.

Who was arrested?
The Heister from NYC who waited for the MacHeist contact or the MacHeist contact (who was arrested and therefore was a no show)?

I know you guys are gonna be frustrated, but I'm doing everything I can do. I'm 400 miles away from the Dallas drop off, and I'm at work and I can't save the friggin' world right now.

Here's the update from Dallas. I had two guys on the ground, and the Mac Heist contact missed them. He was driving around the block waiting for them, and somehow they missed each other. After leaping through more hoops than anyone wants to admit here, I made contact with the Mac Heist guy myself.

My guys were called into a meeting at BOA and were not able to get the package from the guy. HOWEVER, Mac Heist left the package at the security desk at the bank and my guys are going down to get it after the meeting.

As soon as I hear from them when they pick up the package, I'll get right back with you. Bear with me, gang. We've got the package. We just don't know what it is yet.

Diane, this case gives me a strange feeling... this is one of Cole's blue rose cases.

I'll have a MacHeist story to beat the band, I tell ya! After I have a margarita...

Sorry for sounding all huffy. If I worked at a cooler place, this would have been so much easier. My boss is intolerant, to say the least...

And just to bring some levity to all this, I think it's endlessly funny that a "secret agent" is dropping off an "unknown package" at the security desk of a major bank, which is being picked up by IT Security. That's crackin' me up.

Diane, this case gives me a strange feeling... this is one of Cole's blue rose cases.

Being the Devil's advocate here for 1 min...

1.  Missed Berlin - calling phone from Chicago heist - which we have no idea if it even still exists, because it is in the hands of someone that we cannot get in contact with.

2.  NYC - gone.  Contact arrested - no further information or instructions.

3.  Dallas - package awaiting pickup.

4.  SF - forthcoming - no reasonable expectation of a heister being there at the moment - no confirmation of that anyhow.

Even if 1, 3, and 4 come through - with the missing NY package - I would have to think that the mission is a bust with out a key piece of information?  I know that we are all putting a lot of effort into this, and that John and the boys put a LOT of time and effort into it too (btw - thanks for that!), but at this point is there any reasonable expectation that this heist can be completed?

eh - I know everyone else looks on the bright side, but if we all did that we would all go blind wink

I haven't played WoW in about 6 months or so but Stormwind is easy to create a new character (human) and get to in short order - I would have to believe that someone here is still playing WoW since there is a Mac native install and all.
