This was fun. Can't wait for the next mac heist. It was my first one.
Nothing rhymes with orange.

MH3 has started off well. I think there needs to be better laid info out info for the rookies though. Big bold letters that say READ THE POSTS BEFORE YOU WRITE...
Seems pretty logical, but now that thy PC folk are starting to go Mac. Common sense is diminishing.
Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.
That was fun! My first Heist! But I was a bit late getting the notice of the start of the Heist, so by the time I got the first URL, the rest of you were done... oh well, hope the next one is in the evening, so I can actually do it! ;-)
GO PURPLE!!!!!!
This was really fun. Thanks to all involved in creation/dissemination!!
If it wasn't for the bits and pieces everybody dropped, I'd be lost.
MacHeist, Thanks for stretching my brain!!

I agree with waaykuul; there should be some sort of intro to MacHeist. This was my first Heist, and while I caught on fairly quickly, I noticed lots of the forum posts were from confused people who didn't "get" what it was all about.
Also, I'm fine with "spoilers" (hints as to the meanings of clues, full answers) being kept in the "Backdoor" room, but threads should be better organized there, like how they are in the Communiques. It's a pain sorting through 30+ pages of people posting links to the new communiques, saying they're done, etc. when all we want to do is find a hint on how to solve a particular puzzle. To that end, maybe we could see all the responses to a topic in a thread style, so we can skip over those that we may not want to read? Plus, people could "tag" their responses if they had subject lines... e.g. [HINT] or [ANSWER] or [SPOILER].
Above all else, the clues -starting with the communiques all the way down to the sites we go to for the answer *.tgas- MUST BE ACCESSIBLE. It's absolutely reprehensible that people won't be able to participate just because a site doesn't have alt/title tags or because the video (HINT HINT) doesn't have captioning or a transcript. Particularly bad was the tangledupinlies clue. Basically anyone that didn't know how to translate music (what a "C" note sounds/looks like, etc.) or can't hear music HAD to "cheat" to pass that clue. Don't eliminate "agents" by requiring them to have a particular ability-- it's a poor assumption on the part of the organizers.
As for fans thinking they missed out, I think almost all the clues were posted by the time I got the email about MacHeist. I don't look at it as a rush or a race. Sure, it's fun to be the first one to post the answer or a possible clue about something -after all, that means you're the one helping countless others- but it's just as fun to participate a few hours/days after the fact. As far as I know, you still get the free software, so what's the big deal? Timezone shouldn't make a lick of difference for participation.

So, is the 28 days and counting the amount of time that the 'mainframe' will take to produce the real MH3?
It would appear so! Seems like a long time to wait, but that's the joy of MacHeist: unpredictability.
To people who are requesting an FAQ/help section for new users:
What would you like to see in it?
What sort of general questions do you as new users have that should be addressed first and foremost?
I'm contacting jpdyson, who wrote the excellent starter's guide here, to maybe expand it into something larger. The sooner you guys let us know the sooner we can make it easier for new folk or for people who are just overall confused to get involved in the missions.

Just finished it a few minutes ago. Liked it verry much. Needed a few clues like with the harp and stuff but learned the thinking process of MacHeist.
Can't wait for the real Heist begins (although I have to study for exams) !
go orange team! go MacHeist!
For those of you who are starting on a mission some time after it started, you could try getting some hints from the MacHeist wiki page found at http://mhwiki.channelblue.net/wiki/Main_Page
What happens at the end of the month?
