The Teaser Trailer
Yeah, you've been hanging onto my every word over the past few days on Twitter, following the trailer speculation thread, and have, in general, been thoroughly confused.
Don't worry, the waiting is over. Introducing the MacHeist Retail Bundle announcement trailer, featuring David Fincher inspired cinematography:
This is the first product out of our Department of Propaganda, and we hope it enhances the whole MacHeist experience for those who check it out. Huge thanks to my friend Kevin Capizzi (who some of you may remember from My Dream App) who took the time out of his busy schedule to model, animate, and soundtrack the whole thing. Yeah, he pretty much did everything while I sat back in the producers chair. But huge kudos.
And if you still haven't watched it, it features laser traps. Booyah.
We hope you guys enjoy, because Kevin's definitely interested in returning with some even craaazier stuff for MacHeist 3. 
*to note, 1password and EarthDesk have been replaced with another app.

I'm afraid now I have even more questions. How are we supposed to get referrals from a real-life retail bundle?

We may have a way to refer online sales, obviously physical bundle sales, no.

looks like seasoned heisters are out of luck on this one, as we already have that bundle (other than WriteRoom, and maybe the 1Password replacement?)
Sweet bundle though, all great apps! I think its a better bundle than macupdates offerings, but I don't have any of them so thats where i'll be spending my cash this month.
and nice work on the trailer, love the shakey 'first person' look

This is a 'best of' bundle. We stuck in TextExpander, WriteRoom and Xslimmer for the hardcore members.

Does that mean that "hardcore members" will have to buy the other 9 apps over again if they want the three, or will there be a different deal for people who have bought the last two bundles?

Yeah...I have to admit, I'm pretty disappointed with this "best of" bundle and I'm certainly going to pass. If they had apps like Pixelmator, VectorDesigner and a few others, I definitely would have jumped in since I passed on the previous bundle and was regretting it. Oh well...

Don't worry about it, if I were you I'd just wait and check out the referral program. It's seriously baller, and it is meant for you.

great idea. as for me i will pass, but certainly will TRY to refer. But everyone I know has already bought the other bundles. Oh well...

nicely done trailer. it's fun to see it in its finished form after viewing the teaser pix you linked from twitter. i'll definitely be watching for details on this bundle. even though i already have many of the apps, thanks to previous heists, there may well be something irresistible included.

If this is a best of, best of should be define has best apps for every category.
1) Cha-Ching - Money management
2) CSSEdit (again) - Developing Utility
3) XSlimmer
4) Awaken - replace it with Aurora, same thing different app.
5) Pixelmator (again) - Photo managment
6) 1Password (again) - Password utility
7) WingNuts 2 or Tiki Golf (again) - games category

Great work on the trailer guys - it looks amazing.
Quick update on Awaken - I see some of you noticed it on the box art in the video. We're currently working on version 4.1 which is a major update. We've collected all of your feedback on 4.0 and we're baking the result into 4.1.
As with all updates of Awaken (both minor and major) this will be a free update to anyone who has purchased Awaken. There will be a beta of the new version available this month. So enjoy 4.0 now and get the 4.1 update free later this month.

seen as i've participated in both 1 & 2 + loots , we've basically had these apps before...
but this might generate some buzz for new switchers or just generally bring new people to macheist.
i think misu would be up for it... i def saw them on mupromo a cple days ago i think

quick question...
what will happen to the loot?
its still the same form MH2, but i haven't downloaded all the apps yet (system re-install) and was wondering if this part of the site will still stay here or will disappear?

That's sort of the point, isn't it? I've seen quite a few posts from people saying that they didn't know about MH1 and/or didn't get the chance to be in on MH2, both new and experienced Mac users alike - there's no reason why you'd buy this for yourself even if you only just participated in MH1 or MH2 alone. I'll probably be buying this bundle, but as a gift for a friend who's a Mac enthusiast (but knew nothing about MH).

Hey guys, Guess who!
I didn't get to finish MH1 or take part in MH2 because the severe Mac lack. Lurch was a good G3, but... he was a G3.
So... I'm excited that I'll be able to get some of the apps I missed! Lurch and Morticia are a memory, but my new iMac, Wednesday, can finally take part in the heists. Oh... and I've gone and already done something heist related. We'll have to see if I'm able to pull it off this time around too!

That would be cool if we could get coupons for the app store. I got an iPod Touch and I would love to get programs for it when they become available but my budget is a bit short right now.
