I love seeing Mac bundles. MacSanta, Mac Update, Mac Heist, and whatever that picnic themed or kitchen themed one was... they're all good for the consumer.
But the MacBundleBox is one I just don't really get. They have a smaller number of apps (granted, for 39 and not 49) and they keep switching out the 'bonus app' .. it seems a bit too haphazard. I'll consider looking into what the benefit of their bonus app is, and pretty soon I find that one isn't there and they have a new one, and now their home page has changed in a way that is incongruent with what it previously was ...
Makes me appreciate all the more what the Phill & Phriends gang does around here.
What? Another MacHeist adventure is upon us? Fantastic!
I agree, this just looks like it was thrown together very quickly to try and steal a piece of the success of the other very good bundle sites such as MacHeist and MUPromo. I find that the apps are a bit basic and would be good as the cheap ones thrown in to a proper bundle with some large expensive apps.
I usually buy the bundles, if only to support developers and especially the mac community, but I will not be buying this one. I think that it has a long way to go.
yes, macbundlebox doesn´t kick at all.
In my humble opinion it´s mostly saving big time on one app that you´ve been staring at for some time and getting a whole bunch as a gift that you may or may not end up using in the end that´s the fascination of bundles.
If you kept an open eye for bundles in the last two years, you now have Pixelmator, Vector Designer, Swift Publisher, RapidWeaver, Mellel, LightZone, Drive Genius, CSSEdit, Bookends, DevonAgent, Little Snitch, ...
And I´ve had at least one surprise in every bundle that I didn´t know I was missing till I got it:
- Awaken
- MenuCalenderClock
- DefaultFolderX
- XSlimmer
- 1Password
I don´t see that potential in the MacBundleBox.
@medienhexer - glad you were surprised by Awaken. We're looking forward to getting Awaken 5 done as soon as it's ready
Free major update to anyone with an Awaken license.
Happy Holidays! I had a blast on these forums last year - hope to cya 'round.
Yay! Jerry Brace is back! I totally agree about Awaken was a great surprise. And though tons of praise has been heaped on Mr. Brace already for posting/beta testing in the forums after MHII, I'm throwing more kudos for continuing to follow the MacHeist forums populated by many of his customers.
Sometimes I feel so blue
It makes me twitter.
Hey newsdork! Glad to be back. MacHeist season is coming. I'm not in it this year but I had to come back to the people on the forums. You guys are awesome. Happy Holidays!
Hi Jerry.
Merry Christmas. Yes, I said so a year ago and it still is true: Awaken caught me by surprise and is in use on a daily basis. Right now I´m sitting here because I forgot to turn it off.
I got an AlarmClock Pro license in the meantime as part of another bundle but Awaken is exactly down my alley. The UI is beautiful and it works exactly as promised. So I didn´t start using anything else.
But although Awaken is working so well for me, I check for the new release regularly. So what´s keeping you? ;-)

ok i will be counting on that. i wonder if it counts toward illegal licenses... no jk i bought that w/ the promo!
It looks like they must have killed it, seeing as it's down. Anyone want to bet on how many they sold?
Wow. MacHeist 4. I can't believe it's actually happening.
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm sitting this one out because of aggressive version requirements. It's been real.
The funny thing about the MacBundleBox's snow is that it is the _exact_same_javascript. I wonder where they got the idea to use the exact same one?
On another note: It's great to have you back Jerry
Heh, I guess the real "MacHeist" must have been for Scott's JavaScript code for the snow...
And on an unrelated tangent: Hooray for Jerry and Awaken!!!
Marathon Forever.
