Has anyone noticed that some of the icons are staying on the tree after you click them?  I didn't get a stocking with coal or a note that I won the app after clicking them. The icons are STILL clickable, what gives??? I'm hoping it means I (and anyone else in the same situation) gets to have all the apps -- yea, nice presents!

Thanks MacHeist even if I get the coal -- it should make for a warm winter.

Actually, if you get coal you can sell it for more than the apps most of us get.

If only it were tangible coal...

Anyone have some clues about tree ornaments mentioned in The Giving Tree Returns Topic?

maherelharake wrote:

is it true if you click the ornaments in a certain order you reveal something else?

Yea, if you read the clues, you'll see my mention of a "BS filter".  I had though that would give it away, since that is what my generation calls watching for Bullsh**.  But apparently, that phrase didn't get passed down.

What is important is to really check everything out, not taking anything for granted. During MHII, it was eventually discovered that you could move one of the paintings hanging on the homepage of MH.  Loot was hidden behind there.  I would have never thought to look there. So after each MH my senses are heightened.

I actually clicked on the ornaments myself, just checking to see if there was anything hidden.  So, my trickery for you all came about because I had thought it possible that Phill & Gang had tried to pull some trickery on me.

Similarly, when someone discussed the odd look of mhstatic, and then someone on the inside put up a page full of static (like an old TV), I actually crossed my eyes, looking for a MagicEye type effect. I half expected to either find a clue, or at least see Hubert in 3D ... no such luck.  But I'm always looking, poking around, reading source code, etc.

And so should you!

Ironically, and I kid you not about this, the old skunkworks site if you remember had two facing black screens where mission briefings and videos would play. While shut off, the black displays had a very subtle reflection of Hubert. No one noticed. smile

if you won an app, you should also get an email with a link to the app store and a promo code.

Considering that his or her username is FakeAccount, I kinda doubt that email went anywhere. Well deserved if the email really is fake. big_smile

It is Titan.
The Titans are the older kind of "gods" in Greek mythology. The original Twelve Titans were children of Gaia and Uranos.

Later they fought against the newer Olympians, but lost the war. Because of this the Olympians have the power and are more important, and many Titans were put into the Tartaros in the Greek underworld.

When I open the page, not all the image is there. Switch to another window and back, and it is.

A few random, probably irrelevant, notes:
- The green stars... very distinctive shape. The name escapes me.
- An aurora. Hmm. Norway?
- Resize your browser horizontally so it's really small. The "From your friends at MacHeist" thing clips right on to the invite thing.
- The boxes appear to be the rainbow Apple colours, although I haven't got the last one unlocked yet.
- 1 Apple. 8 Dogcows. 17 baubles. 17+37+48=102 silver things. By my count, 126 lights. Total = 237

I have gotten no solidification of phantom packages (even though several people have said they followed through with the links) and not one sign of any growing icons/apps/whatevers.

My Giving Tree is broken.

The blooming apps stopped 25 hours ago. To get the referral apps, it's not good enough to click the links. They need to sign up for a MacHeist account after clicking on the links.

My 2¢.

Shooot!  That's awesome ... I even looked there recently, but didn't notice Hubert!  Nice work.

What? Another MacHeist adventure is upon us? Fantastic!
