Awesome work, so far you’ve entered the location of seven files into the MacHeist mainframe. I’m not sure how long this can keep up, but we’ve received another message containing:

In the contents of Maroon.zip, there is a "Red Filter.qtz"

Flip and reveal blue picto message
Print the image and then hold it up to your camera.

I wasn't expecting to see myself on the primary screen after reading macheist on the secondary screen. "Look Beyond the Red" startled me. xD

The app takes the video from the iSight and filters out everything but the red channel, it seems.

I figured it out. open the program and put the image in front of your webcam. It reveals a code underneith

Green is mean!

Yep, it reveals a picture which needs to be flipped... use Preview's built-in Flip Vertical tool.

This works for Tiger users...

ah, this works very easily if you have two monitors, otherwise print out the image.

Look at the RED channel in Photoshop...

open the JPG in PS - view only the Red Channel, rotate it and flip it horizontally…

look through a blue filter too, theres a sentence, but its backwords, so im having trouble making it out.

And for those of us who dont have isight? I also can't get Look Beyond the Red to run on a G4 running Tiger.

I just substitued the video input from quartz composer using the Red Filter.qtz and used the Cryptic.jpg and got the picture now I need to decipher it.

Come on! Next message please, i'd like to go to bed.

The Optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds, the Pessimist fears this is true.

If you don't want to print the image out or don't have a (working) iSight, open the filter in Quartz Composer.app. Double-click the file in Resources after showing the package contents of the app and QC should open automatically.

In QC, disconnect the Video Input and connect No iSight's output Image port to Image Transform's input Image port. Click No iSight to select, open the Patch Inspector, choose Settings from the dropdown, and Import the cryptic file. Open the Viewer and Run the filter.

for those of us who can't afford PS, Graphic Converter works well, on a whim I went back to the earlier files, can see nothing there but that doesn't mean.....
