That was fun smile And if it wasn't for stupid deadlines it'd be even better..
Damn... I want to make origami stuff now!

So since this is the debriefing part I suppose a little summary might be useful...

Basically all the previous briefings eventually lead each to a different pretty tga square image with a long name that looks a bit like a hash. There are 9 of them and they can be connected (surprise surprise) to form a bigger picture. The urls leading to each image can be added to the MacHeist mainframe which will in turn start decoding.

Yay!

There will be more. Lots more. This wasn't even a "real" heist - just a warm-up smile

You'll have lots of fun in the next 30 days wink

me too. i can't see why they couldnt just give us the clues and the answer ends up being a link to download the software or something. rather than some kids figuring it all out and being impossible to catch up because everything is in a crazy forum format

I find MH just have the heists had wrapped up last year and during the bundle sale.  I'm so happy to have gotten to participate, even if this wasn't a full-blown heist.  I've now gotten my boyfriend hooked on MH as well.  He and I raced to see who could get done first.  (I won.)

Can't wait for the real heists to start!  And thank you to everyone who was commenting.  I definitely needed some help on a couple of these!

The "We Are Go Folks" topic in the Backroom forums is probably the best running commentary on how these things were solved and what to do with them.

Arrgh... got my email for this over lunch, was looking forward to sitting down to it tonight, and by the time I get home, the whole thing's over hmm.  A couple of interesting puzzles, but why do the whole thing in one quick afternoon?  You couldn't spread it out, say one a day or something?  Kind of a bummer sad

Typically a "heist" will go as quickly (or slowly, as was the case a couple of times last year.) as it takes for people to solve the riddles.

This isn't the whole thing.  This is just the warmup. smile  There are more heists to come, I'm sure. smile  Typically, there are around 6.  Head on over to the Front Room to get an idea of what's going to go down.

Just got through today's puzzles myself.  All after the fact. sad  I'm looking forward to working on them live in IRC with the others for the next ones.

Been fun.  Looking forward to more.

Thanks for the warm-up MacHeist.

I don't think we'll have to wait the full 30 days for the first real mission though. If you read Sophie's original post for this thread, she says she'll let us know if they make a breakthrough. I suspect they'll make a miraculous breakthrough before then.

Blah. I liked MacHeist a lot better when it was puzzles you solved on your own, not when 300 kids do all the work while I'm at work.

I don't mind the collaboration, but by the time I got home from work - everything was solved. I've been doing most of it myself since then, but I keep accidentally running across the answer on a forum while looking for clues. Is there a way to 'earmark' complete spoilers (ie: posts with the answer)?
