How much fun can you have wasting sooo much time.  It's January, it's cold out, it's dark early, etc etc.  I really didn't want to do any work anyway.  Thanks for the excuse to do give my brain a break.

Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful.

Hope you enjoyed the ride, guys!

For any of those who aren't old grizzled veterans from the old MacHeist 1 days like myself, these puzzles are a sort of "Greatest Hits" collection of puzzle elements from MacHeist 1 and MacHeist 2 - the mirror and the maze for instance were key elements of two missions from MHII, and the origami segment is I'm pretty sure a nod to one MH1 mission which had you put together your own little origami work of art to get to the loot.

If you thought these puzzles were tough (as I did, yes, I gladly admit to my own suckage), you can only imagine how devious the puzzles for the full set of missions for MH3 are going to be...

But, you aren't going to be alone! In the past few threads you've gotten a taste of some of the "MacHeist Secret Sauce", as it's been described, which makes MacHeist so unique: the forum community!.

Even some of the mighty Directorate - the true brains, talent and determination behind MacHeist - have grudgingly bowed to the sheer power of the collective "Hive-Mind" of the forum community...working together, the community has proven to Scott, Phill and John that we're ready to handle anything they'll throw at us, and then some.

So, again, welcome, and congratulations on solving what I suppose is the Prelude. For those of you who are new and haven't heard of MacHeist before, you're in for a treat. For those of you who've lamented missing out on MacHeist 1 and MacHeist II, now's as good a time as any to meet others in the community, exercise your grey matter, and enjoy some free indie Mac software!

I think the problem for me was when I tried to connect the cities, and I ended somewhere out in BFE Wyoming. I kept trying to enter "Wheatland"...no..."wheatland"...no....urgh. I guess I should have been more accurate in google earth. LOL

This was really great!  (And for those who complain about the puzzles being 'solved' by the time they got home from work or whatever ... no one is making you read the solutions that people find!)

29 days and counting...

What? Another MacHeist adventure is upon us? Fantastic!

I enjoy puzzles, but man, how you guys come up with the answers is truly amazing.  Especially the musical notes one... I had a very tough time remembering where the notes on the staff go.  Seeing as how I don't play a stringed instrument, like a guitar or anything a harp...  I did take piano lessons, but that was eons ago...

I'm looking forward to trying more of these puzzles.  Last year, I just bought the bundle to help out the charities, and now that I've seen this?!?  Hell, I want in on these whenever MacHeist is having them!  I need more puzzles...

Thank you MacHeist!

This was my first experience and I'm quite confused but I found the solutions of 5 heists (thanks to forum help) and it was a great experience. Somes heist were very difficult!

For those who missed the heist do it yourself just for fun because finally it's about it.

Viva TBBT, hope it will last a max !

I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed MHII. At least for me, being in a different time zone in no way diminishes the excitement.

Looking forward to MHIII proper!

I think it looks different due to the size... I noticed a bit of difference (more black) on the small version of the image you get when clicking on the remote control.

I don't think it's significant.

Oh, and this was my first time as well. Really cool. The puzzles were really difficult -- I couldn't have solved most of them without tips and hints from the forum (although I wasn't a fan of those who simply posted the links).

Looking forward to what comes next.

There's a simple solution to that... don't use them.

Not all of us have a ton of time to work through every puzzle, so if you're caught in a step, sometimes you need to cut losses and move to the next one rather than just give up altogether. It's not like you're forced to read the forums, copy the link, and paste it into the mainframe -- or that looking at the image URL somehow gives it away ("Aha! 2592fj2902jcn20932u0.tga! Just like I thought!").

However, using black text on a black background for spoilers -- requiring highlighting -- would be a good idea.

i fell really far behind because heistagent didn't notify me about it until yesterday, otherwise, i would've been solving it by myself instead of picking up where others left off. i love puzzle solving and i am very good at it, and i really look forward to the next one. rock on macheist.

Glad loads of peeps enjoyed it, didn't do much for me somehow...

These things start very late in the evening in the UK (when I'm very slow!) so I didn't have the time really to try to do it 'properly' and get any sleep!

Logic puzzles and my way of thinking never match either (my degree in physics engendered a completely different way of thinking). They suit those who can solve cryptic crosswords too (I'm also cr@p at those).

Thanks MacHeist for entertaining loads of peeps!

with best regards,
Karn.
