Received an email from Koingo this morning.
We have just received an account creation request for this e-mail address, and require that you verify this request was done by you at this address.......Please click the link below to verify your e-mail address
Now I know they provided Pandora's Pests, but I never created an account with them, so is this genuine? Have macheist sent my details to them or something?
Buy a bundle! - As soon as I have my referrals I'll be happy to put a referral to whoever used mine here in my sig!
Have: 0 Need: 2
Thanks for any help!
Have macheist sent my details to them or something?
Yeah, I think that's what happened.
Everyone seems to be getting emails from them regarding Pandora's Pests, or a 50% discount on one of their software bundles.
how do you activate this? I see the menu item when it gives me the alert box that it's in trial mode originally. but it's not active because of the dialog box. I can't find an option so it's not full screen, so i can't get to the activate menu item. what am I missing?
Why does Macheist shares my e-mail with software developers without my consent? Is this not overstepping the commonly expected privacy policy not sharing personal information?
your emails is shared with developers as they need it to give you registration information, macheist passes this along to the developers to generate codes, so obviously you can't opt out of your email being passed on, or you won't get any registrations.
While it might seem alarming, I think you have given consent by participating (if I remember correctly) and you have to bear in mind that this is the way in which Koingo have chosen to license their software... To me it seems logical. The account creation does not prevent you from using the license, but it will allow you later to retrieve your license details and access license-holder specific downloads and support.
On another note, I'd thoroughly recommend the Utility Package (although the upgrade price in this case is somewhat more than I paid for it as an upgrader from an earlier MUPromo bundle) - if you can use even one of the pieces of excellent software it's worthwhile. While there have been some problems regarding apps that have been discontinued and/or sold on, it continues to be a very solid package.
Enjoy the rest of the Heisting!

Maybe it's just me, but this game is kind of crappy. I dislike ANYTHING that launches full screen and will not let me get back to my desktop. The first (and only) time I launched this game, it went full screen, at a ridiculously low resolution, then locked up. I had to reboot my MBP. As soon as I was back up and running, this turd hit the trash.

From my experiences, Command-Option-Escape in full screen just force quits the app since it doesn't have the ability to show the selector dialog. Dunno how that goes for this game though.
I decided to give it another go, and it worked fine the second time.
Now I can critique it.
Jeebus this game is stupid! lol It's fun, don't get me wrong, but OMFG. You can't move anything but 1 hand. I never did find the "sweet" spot so I had to swat a bug 5 or 6 times to kill it.
Hey, it was free... I got what I paid for.
I'll prolly play it again, that's the sad part. LOL

Ya this game is BUUUUUGGGGYYYYY!!!!
I dunno if they were trying for a sense of irony, but when the bugs overran me, it crashed. When I tried to play the game, it crashed. When I accessed settings, it locked up. CMD+OPT+ESCAPE to force quit the application to try it again, and it crashes.
Periodically it will have a major slow-down and nearly lockup, before continuing. When you get a new item, it likes to automatically select it, so I was swatting at a bug, and I get the bug spray, and I'm smack smack smacking, and get bug spray in time to waste it on one bug. Nice.
Ya, I woulda been angry had I had to pay for such horrible software. But I didn't pay, so I'm not angry. Just shocked.
Cheers,
This game feels a bit unfinished to me. It spends a long while on the loading screen (much longer than the complexity of the game would suggest), and after that the cursor is laggy. Additionally, high scores are not saved as soon as they are added to the high scores table.
If the game were slick, polished and responsive, it might have enticed me to purchase the $49.95 bundle offer that was sent by email. As it is, I will pass.

Thanks - saved some time on this one...

Pandora's Pests is written in Cocoa. It may well use the enterFullScreenMode: command.

No, Pandora's Pests is not Cocoa. Nothing of Koingo Software is made with Cocoa. Still, it's fullscreen so the Mac OS should kill the fullscreen app if you CMD-OPT-ESC.
interesting concept overall but in my opinion, tedious and eventually irritating.

I agree with others, I would not have paid 10 bucks for this. The game looked like it was designed by a teenager (no offense intended though).
Played it once and in the trash it went after.

Unlike the teaser app (Process) which is worth everything the pricetag says, this app is worth every penny we paid for it ![]()
It looks like a design from a total lack of ideas. I'm almost sorry I saw it ![]()

You're right. I'm not sure what I was looking at to get that idea. ![]()
Just because the Mac OS kills full screen apps on cmd-opt-esc doesn't mean it should. It should work as normal, whether in full screen mode or not.

Do not understand me wrong. e-mailing the registrations is no problem. I just dislike to get additional mail with offers for like 50% on other stuff if i didn't opted in for it. That's just spam.
