Splines are used in graphics programs to draw nice curves, like bezier curves, mainly in vector drawing program (like VectorDesigner of last year bundle...)
We can imagine that the mainframe, after decoding the image, is  trying to "vectorize" it...

I don't get it; Mozy always gives me this message in its backup window when it starts doing backups. For something like visually decoding an image, I can understand...but...preparing a whole bunch of files for an online backup?
