if the memo is really saying what its saying then perhaps
the amazon = amazon.com?
but a search of usernames results no ryan bell....hmmm
rocks & socks
From the looks of things it seems like the idea is to manipulate the text of the song lyrics...a hidden message revealed after dragging the extraneous bits to the trash?
EDIT: I don't know if it'll help, but here are the full lyrics:
Police and thieves in the streets
Oh yeah!
Scaring the nation with their guns and ammunition
Police and thieves in the street
Oh yeah!
Fighting the nation with their guns and ammunition
From genesis to revelation
The next generation will be hear me
From genesis to revelation
The next generation will be hear me
And all the crowd comes in day by day
No one stop it in anyway
And all the peacemaker turn war officer
Hear what I say
(Vocal ad lib)
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
From genesis oh yeah
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Scaring, fighting the nation
Shooting, shooting their guns and ammunition
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Police, police, police and thieves oh yeah
Here come, here come, here come
The station is bombed
Get out get out get out you people
If you dont wanna get blown up
(Vocal ad lib)
EDIT 2: Okay, so it seems that the lyrics posted on the stuckintheamazon site are subtly different from the actual lyrics...I tried dragging the words that didn't fit to the trash (and then I clicked it) but everything reverted to its original state.

"scaring" 2nd line is linked to "streets" 1st line. As far as I can tell, no other text is linked, although looking at source may be a typo, like the page title "police & theives"?
Yes, this game really does encourage paranoia & conspiracy theories!
Wait, I think I have it.
We're supposed to drag the right combination of words to the trash and then click on it; those words probably being those out of place from the song lyrics.
But which words exactly? And in what order?

We who used the Badges earlier are being in a way punished while the others are being soothed by now knowing all will be ok in the near future.
At least that's my take on this latest development.

Yes! I got it!

I just wish the new refreshed page stayed around longer.
That was a sweet image.
And it was fun figuring it out... but Kudos to rampancy for the lyric's heads up!
Free Booty too!
Sweet!

Yeah, I actually went through the puzzle again just to see the beautiful screenshot image. (Who would have thought I'd call a screenshot "beautiful"?)
Anyway, for those of you worried about upgrades, it looks like the version of the loot we've been given is a build that's even newer than the one posted to their site.

Ok, not to over think things, but does anyone think the "things get better over time" removed words mean anything? I already googled them with "The Clash" and they are not part of any of their songs. I assume this is just a subtle message from the directorate telling us the apps/macheist gets better as we move on, but you never know!
EDIT - Good point flec.
uvablue: I think it has something to do with the app we just got. I just wonder if they have a hidden code in it to go off at a set time?
flec65 could be on to something.
or we need it for the actual heist 3 so is this the heist 2.5 then?

If you think about it, the image you start out with is a sepia-toned desktop (no doubt colored that way for the "old time" feeling) that looks like it was taken out of a System 6-era monochrome 68k Mac. After you drag the words in order to the trash you're taken to a sharp, shiny and bright Tiger-era desktop.
Yeah, I guess things do get better over time (though in the minds of fanatical zealots like the 68k Liberation Army, "better" is a subjective term...)
EDIT: Wow, didn't even notice the extra stuff on that ACP splash page...
EDIT 2: uvablue, the help menu for ACP sends me to a Help Viewer file, not to TextEdit...I've also looked through ACP via the usual "Show Package Contents" etc. business...haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet...

love the icon
Good point rampancy, I forget that people actually had monochrome back in the day. So, that probably clears that up, but I do think there's something in Alarm Clock Pro.
trademark: I've gone back to look at the two icons next ACP and there doesn't seem to be much to them. But, I'm with you on the fact that this seems a little too easy
EDIT - Haha! My mistake on the textedit thing. I clicked the "how to make your own clock instructions" file in the Clock plugins folder and then clicked "help" per the instructions in the file before clicking over to ACP. Conspiracy theory crushed!

Given the Hubert stuff in 1Passwd (which I now doubt as being a genine MH clue) and the AHL clue for the last mini-heist, I totally agree that there's most likely something in ACP for us to find.
What it is/where it is though, I have no idea...
EDIT: Thanks so much for the kind words and kudos from everyone!...this is the first heist I've solved without resorting to spoilers or help from other Heisters, so yeah, I feel especially proud of figuring it all out on my own!

Me neither. Nothing suspect to my tired eyes...
Maybe we should search for invisibles?...
For those of you who enjoyed this mini-heist, be sure to give out some big thanks to Schlaeps as he had a big part in creating this one.
He worked really hard and did a fantastic job on it (all voluntarily)!

just curious, how do you add text to the title after the fact?
You need to have started the thread, if you did you just edit the top post and it changes the thread title.

ahhh, thanks
That was fun. Glad after days of speculation, the new mini-heist was something everyone can do.

Schlaeps: Thank You. I keep thanking the Phill Crew Like John & scott and of course Phill and all the others... but that you had a hand in tonights 2.5 mini-heist is great.
Now that I have puckered up and kissed ****
I have only 1 question: Is there only one app or do I go back to the drawing board and figure out what I missed and didn't suss out?
I tried some other combos that seemed right... but to no avail.
Thanks Again

I noticed in the Ryan Bell memo how they were talking about how cool and great the Wii was and were also waxing nostalgic about the NES: "We at MacHeist know how super sweet the Wii is, (things sure have come a long way since the NES)"...
I'm sure that was also a clue hinting at the right string of words to zero in on to solve the puzzle.
