It's me again.  Now I realize that the dashboard is on the Macheist main page.  Still confused, though about the order in which I need to click on the dashboard. Every time I click I get a message saying "Invalid Gesture" so I must not be doing it in the right order.

Okay, I figured it out. I was clicking on the dashboard instead of dragging. Thanks

Very nice walk-thru!!

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"  She said if she told me it would defeat the purpose.

I'm stuck. I went through the first part, up to the puzzle, but when I completed the puzzle and uploaded the files to the mainframe, it took me back to the briefings page, but the first briefing is still the only one available. Any suggestions?

I've even tried going back and doing the whole thing again, and I'm still getting stuck at the same spot.

Nevermind. I forgot that MacHeist doesn't like Firefox. Switched to Safari and everything's working fine.

all the pictures you see in my walkthrough were taken either from the internet* or made by myself .. the only one not by me was the solving of the puzzle in the first part of the mission, where I added the thanks to the creator of those pictures ..

edit: *not from MacHeist Forums, I mean like wikipedia or other sites..

This heist was a real head scratcher. Thanks for all the tips and to Macheist for the loot.

I know I'm late to the party, but what fun it is.
Great walkthroug. Everything makes sense now.
One day I hope to grow up and be a real boy and figures these out myself.
For now I will have to work out the first half by myself, and rely on the backroom for the difficult stuff.

I can't get the overlay.  Do you have two browsers open, and drag the overlay picture into the gallery?  It wasn't working for me.

Really thankful for you that has the patience to go thru quests like this one and the will to make walkthrus. That map-folding thing at the end must be a salute to Mad-Magazine...

Unfortunately I cant get the pdf-file at the end. Safari4 wont give it to me and neither will Firefox but since you're showing how its supposed to be done and what the result is it really doesnt matter.

if you are talking abt the number from the fish-restaurant:
call it [for example via skype] it is a number from the US so you have to dial +1 801-938-5306

if you are talking abt the first code at palminternal: just press the buttons according to the passphrase-letters from the first briefing

Definitely a great walkthrough. Especially the part with the phone number.

I mean, sure, it's a great idea to shortly change the medium, from internet to phone - for users living in the US. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who wouldn't want to make an international call just for a game, even one as great as MacHeist.

I dont know if that works, I doubt it .. what I did was just download both of the pictures and use a program to overlay them.. (I used Gimp).

These MacHeist puzzles must be an INCREDIBLE amount of work. They look great, they work great, and they are hard enough to be a real challenge. Congrats to the MacHeist team on a spectacular job!

I just drew the final image on the homepage and didn´t iStock appear in my loot. Do I need to do everything to get it?

solve the first puzzle and upload the files that you find there to the mainframe - iStock should be in your loot after that [as far as i remember ]

@deep_dark_blue yes you're right .. he needs to solve the puzzle and hit the Upload files to Mainframe button on the page www.palminternal.com/root in order to get the iStock application.

To find the gesture pad just go to www.macheist.com and on the main page you should be able to find it, it looks like this:

It's possible that you see a different pad there like something to enter numbers, but if you click on that pad it will drop down and reveal the gesture pad.

So every time we solve a mission we end up with a gesture that we need to enter into this pad by click and drag with your mouse to connect the required dots. When you enter the right gesture you see a short clip of a vault door opening and then you can enjoy your loot

and about the scroll.. I know you had a print screen of yours on your walkthrough, but this one I made myself, I solved the puzzle again to take the screenshot of the scroll .. but if it's so important to you I can thank you for the inspiration of taking a screen shot of that scroll ..
