I'm having the same problem as others with my license not being accepted. I've followed the instructions in the Registration Help thread, tried quitting and relaunching multiple times, tried it with or without dashes, checked for extra spaces, tried both copying and pasting and typing it in manually... nothing works.

Now, what I'm wondering is - I didn't buy the bundle, rather, a friend bought it and gifted me with this particular app (apparently there was an option to do that when purchasing?). He reg'd it with my name and email, not his, and copied and pasted to me exactly the info sent to him, but maybe there was some sort of mix-up with it being assigned to a different person than the bundle-purchaser? So I'm wondering if the NAME is the problem, rather than the license? What should I do?

Update to the latest version of the Hit List and try again. Also, try typing it manually to avoid copying spaces into the registration window.

When I downloaded HitList, a message popped up saying it was a beta version that was no longer supported.

i can't open the HitList anymore.  do we have to wait for it to get out of beta now. Everytime I open I get this message "This versions of the Hit List Beta has expired, please visit potionfactory.com to download latest version.  However, the website is not very helpful.  any ideas?

Obviously, The Hit List is unlocked by now. However, it tells me my license key is invalid. I've copied it directly from my receipt, and I've double-checked that I have the right name attached (I bought two bundles, one for myself and one for my daughter). No matter what, I get "invalid name or license key." ??

Try downloading the latest version from their web site, http://www.potionfactory.com/ , and if the key still doesn't work, you should email the developers directly (contact info on their web site).

This morning I did everything exactly as I'd done it the previous three tries (call me nothing if not persistent, although I do take breaks in between attempts) and The Hit List unlocked on today's first try. And if this hadn't been my first time on these boards, I would have figured out earlier how to read the preceding conversations (i.e., up, down, sideways. . . ). Thanks for the reply.

I bought macheist and received a serial key for the hit list but now every time I try to launch the app it says demo has expired and sends me to the web page to download a new app. (I do that but still can't get past the demo expiration notice.)

Help. I had a list going that I can't afford to lose.

The Hit List is not working with me after downloading the new beta version. It show this beta has been expired and quit.

Any idea, suggestions?!

If that's the case, then you didn't open the file you just downloaded, but rather the old one.

The Hit List downloads and opens as an expired beta version. At this date (9/20/2009) that seems wrong. I expected better support than this forum. I expected to get what was advertised in the bundle.

Better support in this forum? I have to wonder what you've read for support, but it's stated a number of places that MacHeist isn't the developer for any of these; just a reseller.

If you feel that there's an axe to grind, do it with the developers of the application. They're the ones that decided to have expiring versions.

Otherwise you can download the latest version from their site

One year ago, I bought "the Hit List" in a Macheist3 Bundle. I was given a serial key for "The Hit List". Today, when launching the application,  I have a message saying "This Beta version of The Hit List has expired". I don't remember it was limited to a one year usage. Any ideas ?

update the app regularly and you are good to go. your version expired yesterday. a running version is downloadable from the devs web site.

Ok, so we met the goal but the Hit list that we got was only a beta and not the beta has expired! No one needed to participate to get a beta. How do we download a copy?

Irvesco, the final (non-beta) version is not out yet (and possibly won't ever be). However, the latest version of the beta hasn't expired, so make sure you're up to date. You can download the latest version here.

The licence seemed to out of date. Dose it mean I could not update the new vision of Hit List?

Aaand again . . . tomorrow we're not able to use the beta any more and no word about version changes, a final release or . . . anything from the developers . . . last blog post is almost a year old and I still feel spoofed with this software.

I actually purchased a Family Pack version for both home and work, and those versions (with updated Serials) are not working either. Sent a message to Potion Factory two weeks ago and no reply.

Would love for this to work even if to move my lists over to another program.

Is n't it taking too long for the final release of The Hit Lis? The beta is unstable and it ruins my plans from time to time. I am really pissed guys, seriously, final release should have been out a while ago! Still in beta till now!!!!!!!

Well, I've not used Hit List in a while and got a "your beta version of Hit List" has expired. Go to Potion Factory to update it. Unfortunately, it looks like Potion Factory is never updated HIt List out of beta. Anyone know how to get the expiration on Hit list off so I can at least get to the files and use it in its original MacHeist beta form?

You dont need to open THL to get the database. It's stored in your Application Support folder and also: the beta on his website is just an updated version of the beta on MH, with only one difference: the beta expiration has moved forward a month or two. The other way to use the MH version o THL is to move your system clock backwards constantly so that it never reaches the beta expiration period set by it.

Also, in-app upgrading and some bug fixes have been added.

I bought MacHeist3 and have a serial number for The Hit List.  I still can't download anything but the beta.  What do I need to do?  I'm assuming that it has been unlocked but maybe not.

Was about to start using TheHitList now since its out of beta,  but when im trying to register with the license I bought through a bundle it says I have the incorrect license key.  Do I need to purchase the app again now since its out of beta ???

Nevermind the above post.  Did a restart and tried register again and it worked.

Can we expect email soon from MacHeist regarding a complimentary period of sync service from Potion Factory?
