Question, can I convert M4A files (non-DRM) to MP3 with WireTap Studio?
Yes, choose iTunes as the source and configure mp3 as the output. You can even do DRMed ones. For non-DRM ones, it might be easier to right-click in iTunes and convert to MP3.

People with the error: 'Have printed name and license exactly as shown on receipt but tells me license is invalid'
I have heard of two separate cases now, where for some reason adding a space at the end of your user ID made it work. Please try this.

The only way that I know of renewing it is by doing it through the app. Have you tried contacting them directly?
Is there a place were i can sell my wiretap studio license cause i'm not going to use it

Was successfully using Wire Tap Studio until upgraded to Snow Leopard. Now nothing seems to work. If I hit record button, recording appears to start but actually nothing happens. Ditto when saving, nothing happens and library is empty. Application now appears to be totally defunct. Any help much appreciated as it was a really useful application.
I mentioned this in a different thread. Here it is for you here since it's not the easiest thing to see.
Please note that your license code if left unentered will eventually expire, though there is no reason to be concerned by this. Your license will be automatically renewed over the internet at no cost to you.

Sorry for the confusion. Ambrosia License Codes do expire, but registrations are forever. The reason this was done was to help with the severe issue of piracy of the codes. It's not something they wanted to do, but unfortunately they were forced to take these steps.
Once you have entered a License Code to register a piece of software, it is registered forever. The only reasons you should ever have to re-enter your License Code is if you install the software on a new machine, or do a clean system install.
If you ever do need to enter your License Code again, it may be rejected as expired, but as long as your computer is connected to the internet, a Renew button will appear. Click on this button, and a new, updated License Code will be sent back to you automatically within seconds. For this reason, you should keep your old License Code on file.
Don't worry, Ambrosia respects your privacy. Nothing is sent to Ambrosia automatically. Information is sent only if you click on the Renew button, and then the only information sent is the License information (Licensee Name/User ID, number of copies and License Code) contained in the Register window.
If you have lost your License Code, don't worry - your registration is still valid. To obtain an updated License Code, go to the Lost Codes section of their Support page. Enter the email address you used when you placed your order, and an updated License Code will be sent automatically to that address.
You can also email Lost Codes with the details of your order. Please include License information (Licensee Name/User ID, number of copies and License Code), the product(s) in question, original email address used if you remember it, and the postal address used at the time of the order and we will return an updated License Code.
Wiretap Studio Controller does not give me the "Mac Audio" option. It worked before, but not since I upgraded to Leopard. I also have Soundflower, but in general, WT doesn't get sound when I MUTE. I liked being able to record from applications, like Firefox.
Help?
Thanks, Vickie

So your problem is that Wiretap doesn't get sound when you mute? I'm guessing that's intentional.
Wow. MacHeist 4. I can't believe it's actually happening.
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm sitting this one out because of aggressive version requirements. It's been real.

I have the same issue. Does Wire Tap Studio not work with Snow Leopard? When I try to check for updates it crashes.
This is one complaint I have about WireTap Studio. The KEXT (the part that allows for recording) does NOT get updated when the app auto-updates. You have to redownload it from the website and install it manually.
So yes, like Miah said, update from the website. And don't assume the automatic updates are really full updates.
