I recorded 90 minutes of Parkinson Disease presentations then hit "stop". It "saved to disk" for about 2 hours. I had no idea it was going to do this and was obviously unable to record anything during this time. Then the iMac lost power and now I have two files "BoinxTV_Audio_R5hq4w.caf.noindex" and "BoinxTV_Video_4zYxbI.mov.noindex"

I have no idea what to do with these files. Please help as losing these three presentations would be a big deal.

let's start with the shock: There is no possibility to recover the data, sorry.
After a crash or after canceling the merging process, both files are rendered useless.
We currently work on a way to skip that step and write a finished file right away.

Why is it unrecoverable?

WhiteFang, Thanks for the steps on how to customize the weather map... !!!!

Now, to customize some of the other templates, like the Bible Verse, which is showing a VERY thin and small font when projected.

Does anyone know how to change a parameter so it can appear in Boinx so people can change it there instead of having to use Quartz?

It would be great to be able to change the font size and typestyle right within Boinx for the Bible Verse template.

I'm still wondering about this app. At this moment the goal was already reached (right?) but still I cannot unlock the app with the code that was provided in the e-mail.

Do I make a stupid mistake?

Thanks for your response, warm regards,

Please not that the licenses are not going to work if you try to add an "organization" name.

Type your name as given in the receipt, and do not add a organization name.

What is the absolute minimum Mac system requirements that Boinx TV will run without frequently freezing video momentarily (visible on playback every few secs)?  I purchased to use in our Middle School Broadcast Studio, but I'm not happy with the quality.  There are pauses in the video, audio seems to playback fine.  We purchased a new machine just to handle Boinx TV, but apparently it is not enough. Current machine is iMac - 2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo - 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM, using built in camera and attached Canon GL2 to Firewire 800 bus, trying to run with chromakey background replacement and running audio through camera with wired microphone. Machine appears to have the latest Apple Intermediate Codec (won't let me install downloaded codec from Apple, because it says there's a newer one already installed.)

Has NVIDIA GeForce 9400 video card (PCI) - VRAM 256 MB

Any suggestions? Would love to know what machine this software will run really well on.  We have some funds to buy equip, but I don't want to keep buying what won't work well. Thanks for your support.

I don't know what to tell you. Even on my 9400 card on my MBP it's fine. What's your computer's load when running it?

Works abysmally on a G5 iMac... but on my Intel Aluminum iMac with a 256MB ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro, it works like a charm even at high resolutions.  It's also blazing fast on my 13" MacBook Pro.

HELP!!!!
BoinxTV quit unexpectedly during the file conversion right after I was finished recording. The file appeared in Finder, but it was corrupted. Where is the raw footage? Does Boinx store the raw footage as it is being recorded? If so, where? If not, I guess I'm screwed.

Please help asap.  Thanks so much.

You should contact the dev directly. The MH support is only on a user to user basis, but as you have a critical need...
We have about midnight right now, so I guess you´ll have to wait for an answer, though

Get 2.5GB for Dropbox for free. 1) Use this link to get you and me 250MB extra for Dropbox. 2) Then click  here and become a guru. Thank you.

With the current update, your license is still fine.

I cannot speak to future versions. You might need to email the dev for that.

I've been usig boinxtv on a few 2-camera shoots. The audio source is always the main camera.  Whenever I cut between cameras (switch which is live) and even when I preview the other camera before switching, the second I click the mouse to perform the action, the audio drops out for about a second and the picture freezes for about half a second.

Can this be prevented?

Hey guys I wanted to see since there is not an official forum and I already contacted support for BoinxTv to see if any of you guys could help me out. At my Church we have 2 hdv cameras and we have 2 black magic intenisty pro cards for those cameras. We have 20 gb ram in mac pro that run the system with a Radeon HD 5770 video card. And the problem is that when we run hd there is bad camera stutter and the cpu usage goes through the roof. If we upgraded the video card to the Radeon 5870, would that solve that issue. Or is it because Boinx is a 32-bit program and can't take full advantage of the ram we are having this problem. We even knocked it down to dvd resolution, and while performance was better it still stutters occasionally. We messed with the different frame rates in Boinx, as was suggested in some forums, and on camera with no avail.

I'm in the process of evaluating BoinxTV for use in a simple portable studio. All I'm looking for is some information on how to use the software. The video tutorials on the site don't work, and the quick start is at best, just that.

Are there any plans to create a manual for this software? I've emailed support to no avail. Without any information I'll be hard pressed to purchase the license. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

@mrstargate: yes, we plan to create a manual. Why do the howtos not work? They work pretty good for me. What happens in your case?

When did you contact support. I have indeed 4 unanswered emails, that I'll answer on Monday (we just had a national holiday in Germany).

schlingel: my apologies...now the videos are working. I tried over several days and each time I would click one of the video links nothing would happen. Now I click a link and the video window comes up. Not sure, I'm not doing anything different. User error.

I contacted support toward the end of the week, so I probably ran into your holiday. Again, apologies. I am pretty eager to learn the software.

One specific question I have and so far haven't figured out is exactly what affect the Triggers have in the layer settings. I've tried working with them and haven't seen how exactly they affect the layer. I did discover that you have to deselect the layer in the layers window for any setting change to be 'saved'.

If I purchase a license I will also be purchasing one-to-one coaching to get some projects started quickly. I'm just trying to understand the triggers so I can explain it to a partner who will be part of the buying decision.

FYI, I just went back to the video how-to page and the videos wouldn't work until I refreshed the page.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

@mrstargate: I have to look into the video issue. What browser are you using?

I'll answer all email that "piled" up tomorrow morning as soon as I get to the office. I bet we'll be able to sort the questions out.

Cheers
