Does anyone know how to get the 7th app? They said to post it on Facebook, but is there something we need to specifically do on Facebook to get it on our receipt?

Cheers!!

What seventh app ?

You mean DaisyDisk ? That was a twitter shoutcast that was on offer while the countdown was active...

Of course, it's not available anymore smile

If you look in the video on the main page that describes all the apps. It lists a 7th app that is a virus scanner type application that you can receive for making a post on facebook. (or something along those lines)

Thanks,

If there ever was mention of such an app in the video, there's absolutely no trace of it left. The video lists the six apps and nothing else...

I watched the video half hour ago and it spoke of the 7th program - virus protection app.  So I came to this forum to try and find out how to get it because I am at a loss to find it.  Now it sounds like it's been removed?  Hmmm.

Well, I guess it's gone. Too bad, I would have liked that one. If I hadnt watched the whole video, I never would have known about it. Maybe it got pulled at the last minute.

It's been stated in the chat that the video in question was there by accident due to rushing to get everything done in time for the countdown. We're not supposed to know about it yet.

Intego Virusbarrier looks pretty good (although its website definitely does not).  I've actually been looking for a good antivirus app--maybe we'll be seeing more of this!

Intego's stuff is terrible. Really, really terrible. They come up every so often on Maczot and the comments are always the same: Avoid their stuff. Their customer support has always been bad, and I seem to recall their licensing was the same (but I could be 100% wrong on the licensing part. It's been years since I've used them. That said, the reviews have remained consistently bad since I last used them)

It was announced on the mh chat that this was a mistake, so the video was updated. We weren't meant to know about the security app.

This, why is everyone making such a fuss about a virus scanner? First off; you're on a Mac, and second there are free apps for this.

It worked for me in Safari, not in Firefox.  While I don't believe Macs need antivirus software yet, I got VirusBarrier in a previous bundle and like it quite a bit. I find it both fasterm has a better user interface and is more stable than ClamX AV, a popular free alternatives (which has returned a few false positives for me), and it can automate updating virus definitions.

I don't leave it running in the background (just would slow down the machine) but I run it every couple of months or so.

I just saw an advertisement for it at the top of the MacHeist homepage.

I clicked on it, followed the directions to connect MacHeist to my Facebook account and posted a message, but when I returned to the MacHeist site, it reloaded and said "Page Not Found".

Nobody is hallucinating. MacHeist is just having technical difficulties.

You guys weren't seeing things. VirusBarrier was one of the programs for a limited time for those who were quick enough to post about the nanoBundle on their facebook walls. if you want proof of this, then you'll have to check img40.imageshack.us/img40/5633/picture1nny.png

A Virusscanner make sense, even for Mac user! Just don't think that your Mac is the safest computer of the world. Nothing is 100% safe!

I think the difference is that you were able to complete the process before they removed the page.

Those of us like myself who took a little too long to finish the process got stuck with a "page not found" instead of a software download + serial.

But according to that other guy, they will be putting up the promotion in due time...

I think we may get it later, and that only a few people who were fast enough as to download it before they removed it, got it in this glitch.

We all do. We may be using a Mac and there may be very few viruses or Trojan horses for Macs, we still are likely passing on files, folders and archives to other computers and as such may very well be carrier for viruses and other malware to others. We have a responsibility in that.

VirusBarrier was available yesterday but doesn't seem available anymore. They had a little blip (I guess) on the top of the homepage saying to "click here" (or something along those lines) to post a promotion type of post on your FaceBook wall. Doing so will add a VirusBarrier X5 serial number and download link to your receipt page (See screenshot here: http://grab.by/m1f)

Anyone have an issue with Tinygrab being a "Take my photos, pls" service? Would be nice if there was something similar that would let you automatically upload to your own site/server. I guess something like that would be possible with an overly complicated automater action, but ... *shrug*

I figured out the secret to the "seventh app" The links to get them are only available for a set amount of time each day and they are available at the same times each day. So for those of you have not gotten virus barrier yet, it is currently up. The time is 9:00PM EST and I'm guessing that it will be up for 30 minutes. hurry while it lasts or be here tomorrow at that time. If there are anymore throughout the day please post with the time it goes up and the time that it goes down. Thanks.
