It's been an hour and I haven't gotten my key. Will I get an email? or will it just show up in my receipt?

It should show up on your receipt. It just takes sometime to process the licenses for Flow as it is a license file in which you will have to download. I did receive mine eventually.

Please Don't Steal From Us???

I'm assuming my MacHeist registration is valid, but I'm finding if I create a droplet then try to double click the icon Flow opens then a nice little window saying "Please Don't Steal From Us" opens up telling me to either pay money or quit the program...

I assume this is a bug and not an indication the MacHeist license is invalid???

I used my copy of ForkLift to upload the following:

http://img.torgo.org/offsite/other/flow.png

If stealing is bad Karma, what does that make improper accusations???

--

As far as I can tell, its 100% reproducible if you do the following:

1) Create a droplet in flow.
2) Remove flow from your system (including prefs, I use AppZapper).
3) Put flow back in applications & open your license file to register the program.
4) Quit the program immediately (don't click any of the prompt buttons).
5) Open your droplet.
6) Click allow on the Keychain prompt (may require a pre-existing FTP keychain entry).

It appears to go away if I run flow by itself & answer the "check for updates prompt".  However before being prompted for this, opening a droplet seems to trigger this error.

You do need to realize that the developers are playing catch-up to purchases through MacHeist. Give it time. If it's still doing this after a few days, put in a support ticket. You have a receipt, you have a license. Give the devs and MacHeist some time.

This is a plain bug I believe.  I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the MacHeist promo...

I updated my post with info on how to re-create...

I just find the message about 'Karma' seemingly ironic in this case...

If that's the case then it doesn't apply. That's a bug with the app.

But my advice is still valid.

A double click on the flowlicense got me "There is no default application specified to open the document..." Do I choose an app to open with or what to get the key? Thanks! Chris

Open flow, and there's a pane in the preferences to register it. Drag and drop the license file into the pane.

Just wanted to give everyone a head up from something @extendmac AKA The Developers of Flow Posted on Twitter. Apparently before it took 3 seconds to generate one license due to RSA Encryption. They have managed to speed it up to 2 seconds, and it appears they are all up to date on licenses generation (i.e Shouldn't be much of a delay now).

Ah, so they were able to generate more licenses in the time it took for me to read this post then. tongue

I'm really liking Flow so far.

BUT: Anyone else getting an "...improperly modified..." error message on launch? I'm on my 3rd re-install.

Waiting for support to get back to me, but wondered if anyone else had heard yet.

Cheers.

As soon as I try opening Flow it quits on me - doesn't even stay open for a second. What could be the problem?

I can't quicklook things on my iDisk. It just shows "No items selected." Quicklook works fine on FTP though.

The 90's may want their FTP program back, but... until I can get Flow to log onto my FTP site, I'll be sticking with FileZilla. I mean, seriously: FileZilla logs in, in like 2 seconds flat - meanwhile, Flow just sits there and spins, only to give me a "Timed out waiting for server" error after waiting for what seems like ages. And where's the "cancel" button for canceling a log-in?

Bah.

Flow feels really good actually, but needs some improvements. I have tested it on my SFTP server, i browsed around folders and it processed the listing really fast. BUT: If I try to download a folder with multiple files in it, Flow then puts only the folder in the Transfers list, and saying the folder is dowloaded successfully but i can't see any files in the transferlist even thou i can see on the filesystem it's actually downloading (?!).

As I said... some improvements ...

I cannot even connect with Flow. It keep trying to connect to the user name instead of the FTP server domain name when the password is entered! So strange. Any one have the same problem?

Touch wood, I got my license in no time. Very good job extendmac!

Same for me here.
This program want's to connect to a server which is written in the username field.
Silly.
Seems that I will stay at Yummy FTP.

Sorry gys, this is the second damn piece of software wich was included at this bundle - I'm really annoyed.
Coverscout has got non acceptable licensing terms (and is installing more software) and Flow is not able to connect to a server.
Very funny.

I can't login because my FTP server is set to require FTP with TLS/SSL. Flow does not have this option in the list of protocols.

Fortunately I still have that 90's FTP program... I'm going back to Transmit.

Sigh.. this is actually the software that prompted me to buy the nano bundle and it's let me down.

Once you have downloaded the application and the license file - using the links on http://macheist.com/myorder : Open Flow, and there's a pane in the preferences to register it. Drag and drop the license file into the pane.

(thanks to painttheskygrey whose activation explanation text i 'borrowed')

Flow is a app that allows you to communicate with a off-site server that most probably is hosting a website.

If you don't have a server to communicate with, there is no reason for the app and it won't work.

Read all the info about the app on their site: [link]

I played around with it a bit more and if you use the Initial Path setting instead of BaseUrl Path, which doesn't exist anyway, it works. But that means I have to have a separate bookmark for the web based section of my shell account just to have it work.

I have my user set up as a shell account with FTP/SFTP access, but it won't connect. It will connect with other "regular" FTP users, but won't connect to my shell account user. It says host unavailable. The very same settings and credentials work with other FTP programs, but not with Flow.

It seems as if other people are having problems as well if the user is not your general, vanilla FTP user. Anybody out there find a fix? Let us know. And by the way, does Extendmac have their own forum?
