If MacHeist *IS* dead...

...I would like to thank the Directorate for introducing me to the joy of actually owning an app and supporting the developer. I've bought a lot of software since the last MacHeist, and will continue to do so. Every time one of those quality apps tells me there is an update available, I remember when my money went.

If MacHeist was dead I'd have thought they'd have closed these forums and be laying on a beach somewhere.

Judging by the amount of "Heavy Traffic" messages I'm getting recently, I'm inclined to say that MH isn't dead

Either that, or the amount of new bundles being launched is making people think that MH is due to start.

I never wrote them down, so I can't really remember what I had been thinking.

But here is the basic formula: Match high quality apps not yet in bundles to developers MH has past relationships with. That will probably account for at least a few of the apps in the next bundle.

It would seem that the power of the unknown as to when MH4 is going to start is really quite effective.

Can't we even be given a tiny a morsel of knowledge as to when it is planned to happen from your great feasting table of schedules and planning?

of course part of the macheist experience is also that you never know when it will come. But now this is a little extreme, isn't it?

It's beginning to feel like a stage 1 ghost town, with just the faithful and regulars left. Sort of like MacThemes when they locked up for a while. We need something the get more people on here so it isn't just a few assorted people in the chat.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm sitting this one out because of aggressive version requirements. It's been real.

That wasn't really such a bad thing, IMO. I was sick and tired of kids posting work that was either just simple cut and paste jobs (usually ripping off other peoples work) or just stuff than you or I could have easily done ourselves in Photoshop.

So true. Overall I think it was beneficial to the community, but sort of slowed it down for a while. No more users also means no new beta testers or feedback. I guess that what deviantArt is for.

I think MacHeist is certainly dead as many of the threads here usually degenerate into feeding trolls with some of the moderators fully involved instead of preventing it.

Regardless if MH is dead or not, big thanks to Johnred and the team for all the hard work they put in. I had a great time with the puzzles, got tons of great apps, and most of all had a great time in the forums while it was pumpin.

Seriously, MH3 was, what, nearly a year and a half ago? I'd have rather they'd given us MH4 than all those nanobundles.
