So, first off, what's this for? As some of you know, we've had some confusion recently due to some user created "mini heists" and "micro heists" being mistaken for official missions. And that was unfortunate. But the thing is, we'd love to encourage members creating content for the community to enjoy, and we realized the best way to do this was to create an isolated section of the forums where members can cook these up.

So, voila.

Just a few things before you guys start...

1. Member created heists must be labeled as such in threads, websites, emails to devs or members, and anywhere publicly. This means that you need to explicitly label them as "unofficial" or "not affiliated with MacHeist".

2. You must ask permission to use original artwork. For MacHeist art, shoot an email to directorate@macheist.com. For use of Hubert, you're looking for Hugo van Heuven.

3. Prizes must be legally acquired. That means one purchased or donated license number per winner, or a registrationless build sent with permission by the app's developer.

4. The best place for releasing a finished "member heist" is probably in The Front. Again, to reduce confusion, please label a release with a [Member Created] tag before the heist name in its thread title.

Good luck, and hopefully this'll result in some fun stuff for the Heist community!

Nice! Glad to see you guys created this. I think it's going to help quite a bit in organizing and getting rid of confusion. I'm looking forward to see what everyone comes up with!

Ugh... I'm not incredibly happy about the creation of this forum... I'd much rather have ONE unofficial heist effort instead of as many as we want... It will eventually turn into competitivity like the gamemaster vs. leo/hit0 thing... I seriously think it was a bad idea...

I think it will work. The only reason the Amazon didn't go well was because we were competing for a domain. The only reason there was split and confusion was because I started a new amazon effort here, where it began, and they started to develop it elsewhere. Then when they posted here it confused a lot of people (including me).

I think this is a good idea and provides for entertainment and refreshings on alternate heists whilst awaiting the next official heist.  Good job, Phill & Co.™! wink

Good job. I'll add the link to this forum section to my "More info about MacHeist" post in the Front.

If only I had the patience to make puzzles. Or solve them. Or read them. But good luck to those trying!

FFS just lock this thread already. Incidentally, what next official heist? What alternate heists? Haven't really seen either of those for quite some time...

Looks like a spammer to me. One with an actual person to make it seem more legitimate.

That said, there's no reason to lock this thread. It's not exactly like it can be bumped.
