Yes one. I've seen 10.7 appear in one of my upgrade today, but unfortunatly I can't remember the name of the software

Kyd, we're playing fair here: DaisyDisk 1 won't silently update to v2 with sparkle, it's a lame solution. BUT DaisyDisk 1.x has a build-in mechanism for detecting availability of 2.x and knows upgrade terms (free of discounted). Licensing policy is also explained in both manual and registration dialog. We'd rather get less money than have disappointed users

As for 10.7 compatibility, there's a little we know about it currently. We do know that some Apple employees used it on 10.7 (at least that's what our records reveal), so it should work. If it won't — we'll fix the issue ASAP.

Ask Apple They made it clear that they won't approve the app with the Admin mode…

Migration FROM the Mac App Store is relatively painless for us (except for the fact that we'll have to solve each case manually ). Migrating  TO the App Store is nearly impossible and that sucks. As Mac users we don't like the idea of forcing people pay twice for the same software…

What are the implication of not browsing in admin mode? Do you just have to enter your admin password when deleting things?

Admin mode has a few disadvantages like increased scan time and a need to enter your admin password each time

In some rare cases you DO need to enter your admin password in order to delete some stuff. I'm not sure this code is enabled in MAS version…

I am sorry that it requires manual work to allow the migration, but after reading about how another indie software company is handling MAS, you guys deserve a medal.

Finally DaisyDisk 2.0.6 aka "stand-alone release" is online and we're adding final touches to web templates before launching it officially. DaisyDisk 2 beta expires in a day, so don't forget to update (you'll have to update from beta versions anyway).

If you're hearing about DaisyDisk 2 for the first time, take a look at the whatsnew list www.daisydiskapp.com/majorUpgrade2ReleaseNotes.php and see yourself if it's worth paying ~10 bucks for the upgrade.

The upgrade process is quite straightforward: download the most recent version from http://www.daisydisk.com  and follow on-screen instructions.

For what its worth, I have had no troubles using the Mac App Store version. Then again, some people still have not/cannot install 10.6.6

Stand-alone version should work just fine on Mac OS X 10.5, we haven't even dropped PPC support for it yet

Blatant ripping has nothing to do with competition.
Real competitors to DaisyDisk 2 are Eximo and Disk Falcon: both are build around sunburst/treepies.

And looks like your parallel with HandsOff is correct: compared to LS it's a mess (had to roll back with Time Machine after reporting a few issues to developers) #thankstevefortimemachine
