Hi gals & guys. I had a new bundle offer email this morning.

From maclegion[dot]com, but it came from a Mac Bundle Box email address.

I know some people on MH have had issues with Mac Bundle Box in the past and I was wondering if it's a good bet and not a scam.

They have a couple of apps that I want, so I'm tempted.

I suppose PayPal is the safest way of paying and if they don't stump up the goods then I can let the PayPal hounds upon them smile

Here is a list of the offer apps if anyone is interested.

Data Rescue 3.1

ScreenFlow 2.1.7

Contactizer Pro

Virus Barrier

ForkLift

LaunchBar

Amadeus Pro

Radio Gaga

Printopia

MacPilot

great looking on paper.  Their website isn't responding though.  Are you sure the link you clicked went to maclegion.com?  That it wasn't spoofed?

EDIT: Seems to work now.  Not sure why.

Okay... I threw caution to the wind and purchased it via PayPal.

Glad to report that I have my serial codes all nicely laid out, also an email from one software company straight-away.

So far, thumbs up.

They actually managed what MacHeist couldn't: Screenflow in a bundle.

Nice to know: Data Rescue comes with a bootable disc image.

Edit: I got all of my licenses instantly. Printopia is a preactivated download (same company and method as Phoneview).

Edit 2: Looking forward to the inevitable Twitter/Facebook promotions for additional apps!

Excellent bundle. I picked it up mainly for screenflow, contactizer is excellent as well, I already use Forklift a lot and launchbar.

Get 2.5GB for Dropbox for free. 1) Use this link to get you and me 250MB extra for Dropbox. 2) Then click  here and become a guru. Thank you.

Very nice bundle, far better than most recent offers, all my serials came through immediately.

Perhaps the MacBundleBox/MacLegion people have grown up a little and learned something about how to run a bundle offering.

I wanted Screenflow & Forklift2.  Contactizer Pro may be of use (and also allowed me to call it a business expense wink)

Printopia sounds good and I'm looking forward to trying Amadues Pro, I'm always happy to have more Audio software to play with.

I'm not sure how Data Rescue compares to the other repair/rescue apps I have but I'm always happy to have them around.

HDRtist Pro looks a little unpolished from the screen shots but worth a try.

Very happy with this one.

Mark.

Is this really a benchmark? I guess AppSumo had them too at some point?

Maybe. It would be nice if it was the case. I do like the fact that the site theme isn't a ripoff of some MH design as had been historically the case. So that's a good start.

Though, the term "a rose by any other name" still comes to mind.

Data Rescue II saved my life in the past so, even though I hope I wont ever need it again, it was nice to see it in the bundle. The same goes for ScreenFlow and ForkLift, while MacPilot is a little hackneyed.

Dropbox Referral: get 2,25GB instead of 2GB for free.

I have a few of these and have tried some others, but don't tend to use any of them too much (doesn't mean the software isn't worth using, just that I haven't made much use of them).  There are lots of alternatives to MacPilot, some good free ones.  I did use Forklift a bit in the past, but tend to use Path Finder instead now. I really hoped to like Amadeus Pro, but for my needs, Audacity is more useful (and I also use Twisted Wave).  The one thing that Amadeus Pro offers that is somewhat unique for lower-cost audio editing is the spatial settings - each track can be assigned to playback not only left or right, but also front/back/centre and combinations of those.  I've tried a couple of times to make use of Contactizer Pro, but it just doesn't seem to fit the way I work (in many ways I prefer to have separate software for separate tasks, rather than an all in one solution).

I keep reaching for the Paypal "Buy" button, if only to get a license for ScreenFlow... and then I see a little Post-It note with a list of iPad apps I'm still waiting to buy, and then I don't make the purchase. Bundles just aren't what they used to be.

The problem is using cl.ly and assuming you can link a webpage like an image.

I was going to wait until someone else figured that out but I can't stand watching this for another goddamn second.

Since there's no comprehensive FAQ page, I'm putting this from the discuss page here (Intense Debate comments don't seem to have permalinks):

MacLegionHelp wrote:

Hi John, all applications are the latest FULL versions each developer has to offer. Additionally, all MacLegion bundles entitle you to full after-sales upgrade paths, just as though you purchased all the apps directly from the developers. This means, if Telestream does come out with a new version and they don't charge customers that have just purchased off their site, then they won't charge you... We've made sure of it!

And this gem, also from the same page:

User2: You can gift them to anyone you like.
User3: Better still, gift them to somebody you don't like smile

Bought it for ScreenFlow and Data Rescue even though I have quite a few of the other apps. I love Amadeus Pro, it is my go to podcast editor, it automatically rejoins the surrounding sections when you make a deletion, and it has great tools for noise reduction, I use this a lot for Skype/voicemail calls.

If you are a Dexter fan, check out The Dexter Cast podcast - iTunes  or www.thedextercast.com

Interesting.
Contactizer and VirusBarrier are quite good. I have licenses for Daylite and SOHO Organizer, but Contactizer Pro is the one I've used regularly for the past few years. It's not perfect, but has improved consistently and I've not been asked for an upgrade fee.
VirusBarrier includes what was called NetBarrier, which was probably the only Intego product I've liked. I may get it tonight, and will probably disable the anti-virus itself but will definitely use the firewall.

I thought about Amadeus a bit and the noise reduction tool is one of the things that still attracted me. I do my editing using Wave Editor or DSP-Quattro, but decided to add Amadeus along with its respective tools. I recently worked on a project and Amadeus' noise reduction would have come in handy.

Hi there,

I am from germany too and the problem is only related to german customers that use direct debit as payment method ("Lastschrift") on paypal.

You have to send the funds to your paypal account or add a credit card but direct debit won't work for whatever reason.

I had this problem once before on macgamestore.com and they told me it has to do with german paypal regulations.

Though I couldn't find detailed information, also called paypal support to find out more but all they could do was to suggest alternative ways of payment (cc or transfering funds).

The last time I bought from MGS in 2009 direct debit was still working fine.

I just bought the bundle ... very nice.

.g23

PS: Maybe anyone here knows if Maclegion is based in Canada? MGS is from Canada, if Maclegion is too I guess it has to do with these payment problems. Because I regularly buy stuff from US companies using paypal direct debit method without problems at all.

Yeah, sure if you got enough funds then there is no problem with paypal.

But most german customers don't transfer funds to their paypal account, they use direct debit (Lastschriftverfahren) because it's convenient.

If I had to transfer funds all the time I want to pay something using paypal I wouldn't use paypal at all and just transfer the money directly.

I don't trust paypal enough to put money on my paypal account because there are many people that got their accounts freezed due to nothing.

Same in the UK. I use direct debit with PayPal no problem. Never have to keep funds in PayPal account.
