In their HTML, it says " よろしく  " which Google translate says means "regards" in Japanese.
Also found " ファイアーフォックス大嫌㠄! " in their CSS as well as " .geckosucks " (but I think they're referring to the pain it is to do CSS for the Gecko engine)

This may all be nothing, but it's worth sharing

In the source for the front page is a comment with the Japanese (I think) text, よろしく which translates to "Regards", according to Google.

No idea whether this is relevant.

A quick google translate reveals it means "Best Wishes" or "Regards"

Did anyone else get this?

I got it after rotating the background, when i touch the tabs the one on the far left lights up.

I have no idea what to do with it though.

They are not hiding anything, you just have not found it on the site, they have said before that it is cheating.

well, if you "turn" the wheel using your fingers on your iphone, these light bulbs appear and they light up. inside of each light bulb, there are the same symbols as there are in the twitter app for the mac. macheist.s3.amazonaws.com/teaser1104/lights.jpg  and yfrog.com/h2i84jj

I suspect that the "Access Panel" is the location of whatever people need to be looking for at the Apple Store in NYC.

@Seshan I see your point - but how about we get back to figuring out the next step? We have a map, a location, some symbols which may or may not be related, and a string of characters.

I can't find anything to click on in the map screen on the ipad or the main site.

Previously there were a lot of cyphers and hashes - I don't know much about either. Does it look like it could be one to anyone else? (would probably translate to a URL or partial URL based on previous heists).

Also - does anyone know where the IRC room lives these days?

I've discovered what it really says there using Chrome Canary. "ファイアーフォックス大嫌い!" Roughly, it translates to "I Hate Firefox!" Additionally, when loading the home page in a browser that uses the Gecko engine (Firefox does), the rays do not appear the same.

It's clear the Japanese characters have nothing to do with the heist, that's why they are in the source, you guys are just follow dead leads. That's why you shouldn't look in the source.

Hmm, that would be an impressive tie-in.  I wouldn't be surprised if Apple were involved, but that would be crazy!

I'm not so sure about it being a serial though - what would be the point of a universal serial?  Whatever it would be for should then be free.

It's software directly from Apple. You use your Apple ID to login to the Developer Center and Download the iPhone SDK. http://developer.apple.com/programs/register/

MD5 is also hexadecimal, so it's not that either.

It was mentioned earlier, download the SDK package from the apple dev website (note that you have to download Xcode too, and it's a ~4 GB dl/install.)
