It turns out if you rotate the maze in the background on an iOS device, this secret will appear. I am unsure if it also works with a Magic Trackpad or a touch enabled MacBook because my MacBook is a 1,1 MacBook and doesn't have multitouch other than the scrolling. This secret seems to be a blueprint of sort, I reversed the javascript to reveal it on Safari and this is what we get.

He's just saying that he got the pictures by loading the javascript and finding the original files.  Just a note GRMrGecko, hacking the source code (or in this case javacode) and then posting about it is prohibited in the heist. So be careful.  It's thread #340694... I'd post a link but i'm too new to allow that). You can look at it, but then you can't post about it.  You'll have to get to the files the old fashion way.

Rotate all the way around (4 times) until all bulbs are lighten. A secret map appears but on an iPhone you can't read anything on it!

I really couldn't read it on my iPod so I just copied the code from the javascript in the view source (which the left other things as people mentioned elsewhere, such as the japanese word, for people in the source) and ran it in the javascript console. This isn't exactly hacking, it's just copy and paste. Any programmer can do this as they do it to their own sites to test things without having to edit the code and refresh. I really thought this type of stuff is what people here does all the time.

That's entirely possible.  I'm new to the heist and used to complete hacking of the ARG from back in my cloudmakers days (which for that was completely legit).  I saw a bunch of people complaining about the japanese coding, so just wanted to warn you with what I learned just in case you could get in trouble. Be nice if there was a set of "Rules" somewhere.  Anyone know a page where those might be?

Has anyone been able to tell if the map is accessible from non-iOS devices?  Such as Android, Windows7Phone (GASP!), or the like?  Only android phone I have access to doesn't support multi-finger contact.

tip: If you can't read it on an iphone or ipod touch, take a screen capture (press the home button and power button at the same time), sync and then you look at it on the Mac's bigger screen.

I dont own any iOS devices. So am I out of this round? That would suck.

Have you tried accessing the page from any multitouch device?  I've verified it doesn't work on a mac with a multitouch trackpad.  Dunno if other touch phones/tablets that support multi-touch will work to get the map.

Only have a track pad on my old black macbook. No fancy phone or tablets.Im just not,"with it" as some would say.

Well found this http://macheist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=340694 , I didn't post the source code and the only reason why I copied and pasted the source code to reveal that on the OS browser is because I couldn't read on my iOS device at all. I don't think that counts as cheating, it just means that I couldn't see it so I thought of another mean for seeing it. I never used the source code to hack or cheat and never will.

With my trackpad I never was able to get anything, I went to my ipod touch, but that screen is too small. I forgot to try my android phone, but the touch worked.

Cannot personally get 2 finger dragging to work, but I've modded my trackpad gestures so much I'd doubt much works anymore.

How about if you change the User Agent in the Develop menu in Safari to be an iOS device? Then does the trackpad work? I don't have one to try.

I doubt that'll work, the safari javascript apis as far as I know do not implement the touch and gesture events.

If you don't have an iOS device, you can try to use the iOS simulator, which comes with the developer tools.

Also notice "767 Fifth Avenue" on the top of the map, some people should start google mapping that to see if they can find something. All I found was places near me, so not really good results for me.

Edit: I googled that and found the Apple Retail Store http://www.apple.com/retail/fifthavenue/.

Yeah, no thanks. I probably couldn't have even used the feature required in this instance either.

The heists are usually pretty fun even if you can't solve them all on your own. (or dont have the free time to)
There should be plenty of discussions to help you through sections you can't solve yourself or just to catch you up.
It can still be fun even if your not one of the first ones solving things.

No.  The dev software is free.  What your thinking of is a dev license which allows you to put stuff on devices and compile for the app store (gives you the certificates, etc).  That cost a $99 yearly free.  The actual info and software itself is free.  I have an account and the xcode software form apple and access to the site, and it doesn't cost a dime.  It also means that anything i create i can actually put on my iphone.. but i'm ok since i just fiddle with it anyway.

Yep, as far as I know playing around with it is completely free. You just need an account to submit stuff (and for Xcode 4).

The blueprint of the map is something about the next mission... or something MacHeist guys preparing for us... It will only saw the map on iPad.. magic trackpad doesnt work.

plus the map is saying about 767 fifth avenue level 4G

For the record, the iOS simulator (4 GB) cannot find this, since it does not support multi-touch.
