Great bundle. They even promise in the comments for it that they will enforce upgrade eligibility in line with regular purchasers of the software. It remains to be seen if they'll follow through, but it certainly is nice to hear.

Oddly my wife works on PCs, has to because of her job, and you would be surprised at how many large companies, ship files with malware or viruses. I have now given her my MacBook Air and we use that to filter all of her mail, and I have Virus Barrier on that, it does pick up things, I cannot say how well or how actual the virus definitions are, but it works.

I used to work in Localization, many years ago, and at that time all files from Microsoft, that we localized, were not checked at source, for viruses.

You can look at it this way, you have insurance, it's there and you might need it some day, but like insurance, it guarantees nothing.

I received a trojan (Mal/BredoZp-B) a day or two ago in a spam email allegedly from Facebook.
Sophos identified it and I removed it. I don't know if VirusBarrier would have detected it as well. I only installed it since it now includes NetBarrier. I haven't even configured it but I'll disable the antivirus part. If I didn't have Sophos, I would use Intego.

Just bought this bundle today. Most timely bundle I've purchased...turns out today I *needed* Amadeus Pro for some work I'm doing, and I will need Screenflow in the next few days. Great timing...got my serials very quickly. I wish I had a receipt that listed the serials instead of having them just stored on their site, but screen shots and 1Password took care of most of it.

Great bundle.

Are you serious?
The link does NOT go to any malware. It's an article from Computerworld.

Here's their WoT scorecard in case you still have doubts:
http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/www.computerworld.com

"...Scammers are distributing fake security software aimed at the Mac by taking advantage of the news that al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden has been killed by U.S. forces, a security researcher said today.

A security firm that specializes in Mac software called the move "a very big step forward" for malware makers targeting Apple's users..."

The article includes comments from Intego and Kaspersky. I usually disregard Intego's comments as FUD campaigns, but this one also included comments by Kaspersky and it was an interesting read.

Why post here?
Because it may address lecycliste's question:
"does anyone actually use . need virus barrier?"

I'm still wondering what this had to do with the bundle in question. Doubly so since there was a full topic about that malware already.

This makes for interesting reading, I'm sending this to all my Mac friends who are convinced they are all safe from viruses, and like me most of my friends have a PC in the house, thanks to work.

It's all a little like a condom, it protects me from you and you from me, any virus firm can use that for free, just quote Macheist ;-)

Of course, OSX Lion will have Foreversave-like features built in, but this is still a sweet bonus.

I am very curious to see what the developers of apps like ForeverSave & QuickPick plan to do once Lion comes out.

Also, could someone point out specifically where in the discussion thread it says that Screenflow 3 will be a free upgrade? I can't seem to find it.

This has been the best bundle I have seen for some time now. At least for me. I bought it when there were only about 700 sold. Very good deal with a stack of great apps that I didn't have until now. And if ScreenFlow can be upgraded to 3 later on, that will be icing on the cake!

Edit: Found the Screenflow 3 reference (or at least one of them).

Just visited Screenflow web site and it states 3.0 is coming. Does this version include a free upgrade path to version 3.0? Thank you.

A:
MacLegionHelp
Hi @chikquintans - yep, 3.0 is a FREE upgrade when you purchase through MacLegion. It will be a paid upgrade IF you purchase directly through the developers though.

What a difference between these people and Hairersoft (Amadeus), who decided to charge for an upgrade weeks after the promo. Needless to say I will not be upgrading that one.

Hi guys, I have been updating this thread about the status of the site:

http://macheist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=19782

In short, we were indeed subjected to a DDoS attack, but we changed to our own server and with that came an IP address change, which can take people 15 minutes to 48 hours to see that change. If we could speed it up we most definitely would!  Anyways please check the other thread and thank you for checking us out! smile
