I thought I'd let you all know that I recently purchased the Mac Love Bundle (last Tuesday) through GetDealy.com and I have yet to receive my purchase and I'm definitely concerned about the legitimacy of this company.

I've received a single email with a license for one of the 9 apps that are included in the bundle, but have received nothing else. I've contacted GetDealy.com support twice and have not yet received a response from them.

I'm now looking into how I might get a refund from them...

Here's a refresher: http://macheist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=19856

I can't remember if that thread goes beyond GetDealy, but Christian Owens last 3 "companies" did the same thing to developers, publishers, and probably customers as well. I now steer clear of anything he does.

GetDealy uses PayPal, doesn't it? Just dispute the transaction.

UPDATE: Finally got an email response to my support inquiry five days later:

Christian Owens wrote:

Our apologies, the Mac Love Bundle has been an incredibly popular deal, with thousands of purchases, it's taking us a while to get through any support requests.

I'm not entirely sure why you didn't receive the provided products immediately after purchase, perhaps it was an issue to do with spam/ junk mail filters, this can sometimes be the problem.

The rest of the message included a link to a page on the getdealy.com website where i was able to enter a code and get all the licenses owed to me.

So it worked out, luckily.

Out of interest why did you not go direct to the actual Bundle?

It was either:

or
http://macheist.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=20299

GetDealy, StackSocial, Cult of Mac are all just acting as middlemen affiliates.

That's what he does, starts a new site and then abandons the old one. If you know the apps you need serials for, I would suggest contacting the developer. They should have a record of your license if you have the email.

Here is a history of Owens work, each past one no longer supported:

MacBundleBox -> Branchr -> VoteBundle -> GetDealy -> Paddle

I just realized I forgot to enter my serials for a bundle purchased over a year ago. Unfortunately, it is a GetDealy bundle sold through StackSocial. Right now, StackSocial is telling me to "follow instructions" attached to the purchase. We'll see if I get a response from the email address provided in the purchase instructions as the link provided to get details on the bundle purchase now redirects to Paddle with no support information on GetDealy purchases.

I miss macsanta.com, which ran only around Xmas 2006. If I remember right, the site merely compiled special holiday deals (from dozens of participating devs) then let you go yourself and pick up the apps direct from the developers whose apps you wanted. I don't think anyone made any money off the thing, it was just a page for consumers to see Xmas deals. I wish it had continued.

Was it this bundle:

http://t.co/IdJWDTrZ

If not that one, then look at the old Get Dealy emails here:

negritude,

Yes, that was the bundle.

First off, Stacksocial's T&C indicated there were "no refunds". They were responsive, but unsympathetic to my dilemma.

Fortunately, many of the developers had an automated means in which I could recover my licenses. Unfortunately, one developer had no automated means to obtain a license, so I had to contact them directly. Their reply was something along the lines of they never were paid and so they could not issue me a license. It made me wonder if the other developers were in the same situation.
