This is an awesome bundle!  Pity I have no need for the apps, either I have them already or some similar ones.

Not so appealing for me already have quite a few. But glad they switched Parallels for VMWare and Techtool Pro for Drive Genius this time around, which is the only app I'm particularly interested in from this bundle.

Not much of a gamer so not to bothered about the games, most disappointing inclusion is the DesktopShelves so not a bad overall offering if I didn't own most or have alternatives.

It's good.

Boom is great for my MBA 11" with the speakers don't quite project, and especially so when I'm using a keyboard cover.
Typinator, great thanks!
PDF Pen, Forklift nice to have.
Plus games is a great addition to the usual !

So adding it all up, I think it's def worth it. With the added benefit of being able to gift what you don't really need =
PLUS ONE.

Just wondering, in what ways do you think Drive Genius is better than Techtool Pro? I've used an old version of Techtool Pro and had no complaints (didn't really need it to do any repair except for the occasional directory compacting).

After not buying any bundles since MH3, I'm thinking of picking this up. I beta tested Boom maybe a couple of years ago and provided a lot of feedback. The beta version was all I got. big_smile

For me...

Will be useful to have:
Drive Genius 3
Phone to Mac

Maybe useful to have:
VMware Fusion 4
PDFpen 5
ForkLift 2.5

May not be used at all:
Typinator 5
DesktopShelves 2
Snapheal
Boom
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition
Worms Special Edition

This is actually the first MU Promo bundle (or any Mac bundle for that matter) that actually looks really useful to me. PDFPen and Drive Genius are well known and are apps I've had my eye on for a while...and I've been looking to upgrade my copy of Fusion too.

Make sure you don't need pdf pen pro, its extra features are amazing.

How does PdfPen Pro compare to PdfClerk Pro?

Dropbox Referral: get 2,25GB instead of 2GB for free.

I've never used PDFClerk. I do know that a coworker uses acrobat, and pdfpen pro does everything I have tried as well as acrobat except compressing.

Does anyone know if the bootable disk of Drive Genius is included in this bundle (as a disk image)? Can't find that on their site. It would be pretty pointless to have this app otherwise.

Apple no longer provides the frameworks needed by third-party utilities to boot from a CD or DVD, so even if you bought it boxed, it wouldn't boot recent Macs. This applies to all similar utilities, including TechTool Pro, DiskWarrior, etc.

There are methods for creating your own bootable external hard drive or flash drive which are considered better than using a DVD anyway. CD/DVD booting is now considered obsolete.

Once again, this is an Apple decision, it has nothing to do with Drive Genius.

PDFPen Pro is being offered for another $20 in this bundle (so the bundle becomes $69.99). But the way it works, if someone buys multiple bundles, they pay just $20 across all the bundles to get PDFPen Pro. That's a cool deal for people who need it.

Anybody know why they dropped VMWare Fusion from the bundle?

I think it has something to do with the fact that they are now offering a separate deal on an upgrade to Parallels 7. The two items would conflict.

The original bundle expired already anyway. No one was deceived. When the time ran out, the original bundle was over. What is there now is really a new bundle.

So let me get this straight, they drop, arguably, the most desirable app from the bundle, don't replace it with anything else and keep the same price? Wow.

They often keep deals a few extra days at higher cost. Dropping one app is arguably the same tactic

They extended the deal for a few extra days past it's original expiry, all the developers agreed to the extension except for VMWare. So put the pitchforks and tin foil hats down you bunch of nutters. <3

If VMWare is out, that means they don't have to split the bundle with them, right? So, why not reduce the price accordingly instead of pocketing it?

Also, is VMWare out because of the Parallel's promo? I can see why they'd bail, as others have mentioned.

As I don't work for MacUpdate I can't answer you with anything other than my opinion. However my best guess is, the logistics of keeping the bundle at the same price for the customer instead of reducing it by the 'x' amount VMWare was receiving is simpler than disclosing to the other developers the amount VMware was receiving as I imagine they negotiate different rates with each developer depending on lots of factors.

Also they are a business, in the business of making money. If people continue to buy the bundle without arguably the best app included there isn't much incentive to reduce the cost is there? They could also forgo there own comission but they're not a charity, they could also remove the affiliate scheme and pass that saving on to the customer. But clearly there is value in paying affiliates to drive more customers etc.

As for Parallels I don't work for either so again unless you want me to don a tin foil with you there isn't much point in speculating. The official comment was:
