I bought it again at this price...!  When I work on my wife's computer I want access to it as well.

One big difference I noticed between non-MAS and MAS versions; no "Mount as Disk" option for remote filesystems.

I bought it on the previous MU Promo bundle. Otherwise I would've definitely grabbed this from MAS, being a ForkLift 1.x user before upgrading to 2.x.

Are you saying that the MAS version doesn't have this?

I'm sure that's what he's saying, and he's right. I just checked on this myself, although I seldom need or use that functionality. Still...somewhat disappointing. I thought that was a cool feature when the older Forklift had it.

I use forklift all the time great app, have 2 licenses, and bought the app also from MAS, so I don't have to worry to much keeping things up to date, on the MacBook.

It's one  of those offers you cannot say no to

That's just insane pricing. I've been doing a lot of belt-tightening myself, but at $0.99, that's hardly a bank-breaker. For the devoted users out there, is it more of an FTP app that can be used as a Finder replacement, or a Finder replacement than can do FTP?

I'd say it's more of a Finder replacement that can do FTP, but you could look at it the other way too. It has split panes (yawn), tabs, multiple drop stacks, transfer queuing, sync browsing (really cool)...you should see the binarynights ForkLift 2 wiki page to know about all its features.

It has some issues with emptying the trash after deleting stuff from external drives. Sounds very silly, but it's true.

I wanted to like Forklift. I really, really did. But as it turned out, it's odd UI behaviours drove back to PF, or even the Finder.

1) For some odd reason, FL has poor click detection. For some reason it doesn't detect double-clicks. Was it an issue with my system? In all of my other apps double-clicking works fine. Not so in FL.

2) Not enough options for UI customization. And changes to the UI don't stick between sessions. I'll configure one column and another to two different things, and when I switch folders, or quit/restart the app, everything resets to the defaults.

3) Other UI oddities: I can't copy disks by dragging/dropping them between panes. WTF? There's also no alternative quick way of navigating a folder hierarchy instead of using the path bar (which is great, but it always helps to have multiple ways of doing tasks, especially in an app that will be as intimate to the user as a file browser/manager).

There are others, but it's tiny niggling things like that. Maybe it's because I just haven't discovered enough options, or maybe I'm just used too much to PF5...but after struggling to get FL to do something as simple as opening a .dmg, copying it to ~/Applications, and running it, I figure it isn't worth all of that frustration.
