10 apps for $38 http://www.ibundel.com/welcome.html

Nothing there floats my boat, YMMV

When I first looked at this bundle I didn't see anything in it that made me even want to consider it. However, I went on the site last night just to take a second look at the apps I found the price of the bundle was reduced to $20.00 from the $39.00 and all 10 programs were still included. I took another look this mourning and found that the price is still at $20.00. It does state that there is a unspecified time period for this price reduction. I don't know if anyone has any thoughts on this but I would like to know if there is any reason that I should just let this one go. I had read something on Clean Genius which from what I can remember wasn't all that positive.

Is there anyone that has either had dealing with the person putting on this bundle or has used any of the software with a strong positive or equally negative experience?

To me, there's 2 things I look for in a bundle:

1) Are there enough useful apps to make it worth while? From that perspective, I would pass on iBundel even at $20. To me, the apps are all either repeats or useless. In fact, it's really close to the EaseUS bundle at:

http://www.easemac.com/mac-osx-bundle/

2) Are the people (or person) selling the bundle reputable? From this perspective, I'm glad the person running the bundle has identified himself. This brings a level a accountability that some bundles completely lack. So, if the apps were useful to me, I wouldn't hesitate in buying this bundle.

Thanks paradime, I asked myself those same questions. I guess I just needed to hear it from someone. I was looking at how good the deal was not did I really need the software. I decided that the titles available weren't at the top of my list right now.

I went ahead and purchased this bundle earlier today (9:30am ET). I have tried to install at least three different products and all three are stating to me that the license information I have entered are invalid.

I have sent an email to iSkysoft asking for help with their iTube Studio license file.

I'm still holding out hope that this is more of a timing issues. I will update later.

Well, if you don't have Yummy FTP before that is a strong point in its favor. Really solid FTP client, I recommend it. But I bought that in BYOB long ago and I guess many others have too.

Many of the others are new to me (Clean Genius, Flirt Pro, Any Video Converter Pro, NoteBurner) so for the ridiculously low price it is very tempting. If only a single program is useful it is worth the money.

I hadn't seen the EaseMac bundle, but I don't think it is "really close" at all. Clean Genius and Cookie are in both. (Photo Studio and Fx Photo Studio Pro aren't the same, right?) Nothing more as far as I can see.

But if we don't get valid licenses, that's another matter... Let's hope it is just a bug they need to fix.

Personally, I'm sick of bundles with FTP clients. Why not include IRC and Telnet clients while you're at it? wink

There are a number of great open source FTP clients out there like FileZilla and Cyberduck. I think the only FTP client I would ever buy is Forklift, which I did...for $0.99 but I bought it more as a Finder replacement than as a FTP tool.

Some of the other apps might not be the exact same but similar:

iTubeStudio = Videobox
DVD Cloner = WinX DVD Ripper
Fx Photo Studio Pro = PhotoStudio

Yes, the iBundel is less than 1/2 the price of the EaseUS bundle. However, neither bundle offers anything new or attractive especially if you've in the bundle scene for a number of years. Almost all of these apps or similar types of apps have been offered several times before.

Cyberduck is shareware as far as I can see (or donationware/nagware or whatever you want to call it). I used to be looking for the best FTP client. I had CyberDuck, FileZilla, Flow, OneButton FTP and a bunch more. Yummy FTP came out winner when I compared them. Stable, wide support of OS versions, fast and stable, very easy to use at least for my purposes.

There is a very big difference between identical and similar programs. A new program for a purpose can make a big difference. However, I have found at least one case where two programs turn out to be essentially the same (YouTube downloaders from Wondershare (AllMyTube) and iSkySoft - obviously same program, not even working well). That makes me suspicious of anything from those two brands.

I'm not exactly confident in this outfit given the horrible design of their website and their terrible broken English. It's a like a Dutch version of MacWeed.

Flirt Pro is a great deal. It can be a great time saver with bulk likes, suggestions and posting. It helps with finding friends, but that is dangerous. Even using Facebook friend suggestions can get your account suspended ( Facebook rules are ridiculously self defeating! ).

As a bonus, Flirt Pro does an awesome job of exporting your Facebook contacts to your address book. It will also show you who has unfriended you, if that is something you're interested in.

My one complaint about Flirt Pro is that it advertises itself to your friends. Not constantly, but friends have reported that it sends them suggestions from you for itself.

Sure but my point is that Yummy FTP has been offer in so many other bundles over the past few years:

May 2012 - iBundel
Feb 2012 - ZeroNinetyNine Bundle 3 (technically a MAS sale at $0.99)
Dec 2011 - BundlesForMac New Years Bundle
Nov 2011 - TheMacBundles 17
July 2011 - Mac SuperBundle 2
April 2011 - Mac Treasure Bundle
Jan 2011 - AppSumo Bundle 4
Jan 2011 - MEGA Mac Sumo Bundle
Dec 2010 - BundlesForMac Web Development Toolkit Bundle
Dec 2010 - BundlesForMac Home and Family Bundle
Sept 2010 - MacFriendly Bundle 7
Sept 2010 - MonthBundle September Bundle
July 2010 - VoteBundle
July 2010 - The MacBundles 9
March 2010 - The MacBundles Build Your Own Bundle Store

If you include FTP apps like Flow, Forklift, etc., you'd be getting an FTP client in a bundle or on-sale every other month. And not to pick on FTP apps but many bundles have the same apps over and over again.

ingemar@ragnemalm.se wrote:

Yes but to me and maybe many others, this bundle doesn't offer anything new or interesting.

Again, it's either the same apps as everywhere else or similar apps, which you'll debate but I think the proof is the success of the bundle. Dropping the price from $38 to $20 says a lot.

If you look at MacHeist, one reason why it was so popular and beloved is that the apps they offered were impressive and diverse. Many of those apps have never been offered in any other bundles to this very day.

The design isn't too bad IMHO but when even the site name seems misspelled it gives me the impression of a very young person running it. That isn't necessarily a bad thing if he can deliver.

Not when I was using it. It was more like once a day. And it was pretty slow, too, at least on a G5, while Yummy is snappy all the way down to my old Pismo.

I just realized that iTube Studio is the program that is 100% identical to Wondershare AllMyTube. Why two companies offer the same product under two different names I don't know but maybe they can sell more by pretending to be two different programs. This is really bad, justifying the conclusions before about not buying a bundle because you already have some program in the same cathegory. That is nonsense to me if it wasn't for this stupid duplicate. Are there more products under more than one name?

I used to have AllMyTube on my Mac but I have removed it because:

- It is horribly slow! I have never seen any Mac application launch as slow as this. Even Microsoft and Adobe programs launch faster (and they are notoriously slow).
- It doesn't work properly. At first it seemed to work OK, but after some time YouTube made some change and suddenly most videos would no longer download, and they never fixed the problem.
- Even when it manages to start a download, it can't continue an interrupted download (for example by losing WiFi contact for a moment). Instead, you must manually order a retry, and then it reloads from beginning. Tedious and nonimpressive.

Avoid! This adds no value to the bundle.

LOL. To be fair, I've purchased my share of bundles that come with at least 10 apps only to use 2 or 3 of them.

Absolutely. If a bundle has 3 good items I buy it. But AllMyTube/iTube Studio is not one that I would count as a potential hit until I know that they have fixed the problems.

Anyway, iBundel has expired and I let it pass. For the price, ONE safe hit is more than enough but I couldn't see any.

I like Cyberduck for what I occasionally use it for - SFTP mostly. It's a nice interface and works well, and I don't recall any nagging other than the first time.

Ever seen Graphic Convertor offered anywhere else? It was good through version 6. I'd love to update it to 7 in a bundle.

I've never seen it in any other bundle. I, too, would love it in a bundle to upgrade to the latest version because it was a great app.

However, if I'm honest with myself, I really didn't get a lot of use out of v6 nor would I expect to from the latest version. In fact, I don't even have it installed on any of my Macs.

Maybe for the better since v8 does look a lot more interesting to me. I have to decide if it's better to upgrade my v6 license or go with the MAS version and have it available on all my Macs.

v8 is definitely more interesting than v7 to me. I was pretty disappointed with v7, but v8 is better so far.

When Yummy is so common in bundles, why bother with a weaker pseudo-free program like CyberDuck? Good pick if you don't have it already or use some weaker product, that's what I tried to say.

How did GC get into the discussion? Was it in iBundel? How did I miss it? GC is a great program but I use a terribly outdated version.
