One consequence of thinking the next Heist is right around the corner has been that I have avoided buying Apps that might be included. (CSS Edit and Curio 7 being prime examples.)
I would have purchased these already if I knew, say, that a Heist was unlikely in the next 6 months. I sorta wish they'd just break down and tell us a broad time-frame for the next one. A year? 6 months? Two years? It would influence my purchasing behavior now and I'd even use a Buy link that originated somewhere here on the MacHeist website on a "Thanks to the developers who have participated in past MacHeists" page.
Also want to note that my Espresso from an earlier Heist is still functional-- TYVM MacHeist.
Well, I haven't let the uncertainty of the next MacHeist deter me from buying other good bundles. The mupromo one currently certainly was good enough to get me to buy it. Should duplicated software be offered, the bundles are usually good enough pricewise that I don't mind given the devs a couple of extra $. Heck, they deserve it.
So come on and give us a heist! This month would be awesome, or at least a giving tree or something to entice us.
I passed on MacPaint 2.0 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacPaint) because I thought for sure MacHeist would include this in their 4th bundle. That's the last time I let a good app pass me by.
I would just like to see a MacHeist 4, or even a decent rumor of one, and of course any thing with Lisa Bettany in is a winner ;-)
Seriously I think Macheist should raise the level, and offer a Super Heist, with really top Apps for Mac and for iOS, things like Photoshop Elements, networking tools and Awesome Plugins, that work with Aperture, Lightroom, and Photoshop versions. or maybe a bundle that we can pick from and choose 10 from 20 Apps, and it makes the bundle.
The recent MuPromo was not that bad, bought it because a couple of the apps I didn't have and it ended up being cheaper.
As I say I would just love to see some action apart from all the crappy, reported topics, it's getting a little to quiet here.
You call it Purple I call it Magenta
I'm sorry to say but a pro wouldn't be caught dead with photoshop elements. Photoshop yes, GIMP in a pinch. But there are functions in Photoshop that Elements doesn't have that are used with every day pros would severely miss.
What I'd like to see would be this.
Resourser, BBEdit, Dragon Naturally Speaking, how about a data recovery program, Disk Drill. Or how about DiskWarrior?
VMWare with a few bells and whistles?
A game or two perhaps, Dragon Age 2, latest one? Or how about The new Civilation Game?
I don't know I'm thinking things if love to see but can't afford all outright.
That's all for me
. At least for now.
