Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You guys did an excellent job, produced excellent results and helped users and developers alike!

The charity aspect of MacHeist is amazing and made the purchase that much easier!

Take a much-deserved vacation ... you guys have been running 1000 MPH! big_smile

I'd like to thank everyone as well, not only Phill, John, Adam, Scott and the rest of the team, but also Ænima, RightOn and Nollid for being such great modernators, all of the participating developers, and of course the great forum community.

Wow, just about over. It's been an awesome and far too distracting experience tongue! I'm amazed I made it through finals with all of this.

My thanks go out to all of the directorate, the truly great community I've been lucky enough to be a part of, my fellow mods, and another huge thank you to the developers involved. I refuse to list individuals because I know I'll leave people out and then feel like an ass wink. You all know who you are. I look forward to seeing you folks around and I'm sure I'll keep in touch w/ at least a few of you. I'm horrible at that so don't leave it all up to me! Hopefully I'll be remembered in a somewhat decent light by some smile.

Over 200,000k raised for charity?

The correct statement would be: Over 200k raised for charity!

200,000k = $200,000,000

200,000k != $200,000

wink

Nonetheless, congratulations on this accomplishment and I'm looking forward to the Final Heist! big_smile  Make it a memorable one.

I wanted to toss my 2 cents (and thanks) in as well.  The heist team did a great job through sickness, rude memebers and verious other problems that we were all here for.  I missed heist 5 due to haveing to send my MBP in for a display replacement and missed the bundle due to sheer laziness, but it's all good.  I had a great time on the heist, the apps were just the icing on the cake.  Keep up the good work guys, look forward to the next heist and what will come after.  Thanks again

Yes, it has been fun, great site, great community, great heists smile

BUT

^^Quote from link:

"Estimated total sum paid by MacHeist to the developers of the bundled applications, based, yes, on anonymous sources, but which figure I stand behind, and which, I will further note, has not been disputed since I wrote about it last week: $66,500

Estimated total costs for advertising, web hosting, and web site development: $40,000

Estimated profit for the MacHeist team: $463,500"

Jesus! Dont you think you should have paid the devs a little bit more than that? I mean this site was obviously an immense amount of work to put together, but you guys practically robbed those devs blind! sad

And is heist 6 coming, or is MacHeist dead?

Ain't that the truth!  I'm having trouble even finding threads that look worth visiting, much less commenting on, at this point.

My guess now is it'll be big news when the 6th heist shows up, and will probably be a precursor or lead-in of some sort to Phill's next project.  That also means it could be a month or more, as he gets everything in place - and I'm not hanging out to go through the silliness here every few days for something that's possibly months away.

Bit disappointed in the wait, since it wasn't indicated we'd be waiting weeks or months instead of a week or two, but learning to adjust my expectations.  After the marketing wizardry we just witnessed, I suppose I just find it surprising.  *shrugs*

Maybe it is a test to see which are the most faithful to the website. Maybe for helping with the site, etc. Oh well, I sure hope it comes soon!

I'm inclined to think that everyone might be setting themselves up for disappointment at this point.  After the success of Macheist it's very easy to not only feel like the bar has been set extremely high but that the promoters of the site may have lost their sense of motivation behind seeing this out.

I don't know how on the mark this still is, but when they started out with MacHeist, they weren't about money. They were about blowing the shareware world wide open so that everyone could see what was there. After MacHeist I am now not so disinclined to look for shareware. Their goal was to expose all of the great things that developers are doing on the Mac, and I think that that goal was accomplished ever more so than they ever could have imagined. They are picking their moment to end this great event off with a bang. Heist 6 deserves to be the best. Heist 6 will be the best. Heist 6 is coming we just don't know when.
