theAmazon Status
I know A LOT of you have been waiting for this, but theAmazon is finally done. We are currently going through the entire heist and checking for errors, to make sure we do not have any unexpected issues.
Although we have been slowed down by December exams and just plain laziness, I assure you we have a heist comming your way.

I will be here on Thursday but not on Friday. I come back on Sunday will the "Heist" still be up?

You should ask this in the Amazon forums, not at MacHeist. You know, this Amazon heist is going to be very cool, but it's not affiliated with MacHeist.

yes we plan to keep it going fo a while since it was short notice and the storys were removed from the digg front page

I'm assuming that I lost my points somewhere with the replenishment, upgrades, and site modifications that you all have been up to, and I'm also assuming they'll be replaced. How often has the store been replenished before?

The store feature of the Amazon is really sweet. They have a lot of high quality products from A-list developers. The cool part is it works on a point system, where each app costs a certain number of points and by completing heists you get points. Think of it like an arcade, except the point-to-price ratio is much fairer 
. I highly recommend anyone who either A) likes free software, B) likes a challenge, or both check it out. Disclaimer: I'm not a developer from theAmazon, just a very satisfied user.

i would be a satisfied user. IF my points were actually worth anything. The store is empty. FACT!
Yes, its supposed to be fixed soon, but until then. thumbs down

I've got to disagree with that. Last I heard they got a little over 300 liscenses for various programs (and some new ones). Don't quote me on it, but I'm pretty sure that is what one of the developers said on the IRC channel. Also, if theAmazon can get more people to sign up, developers will be more likely to contribute, so they actually have quite a bit of room to grow.

Well, maybe last time you heard was a while ago, because right now I got 100 points from the 2nd mission (did everyone get that? - and my account mysteriously disappeared before mission 2, so I don't know if I had more points in store before that), and what's left...
- Appzapper: 0 (the one I wanted the most)
- iClip, iTunify, FruitMenu: 0
- NNW & a lot others: 1 (but I only have 100. How come other people got it then? Did they get more points? Did they only offer one copy? Still a mystery...)
So what's up? The execution is sloppy in not informing people how much they get, how many copies were originally offered, etc. Here, everyone got the same thing, regardless of when they finished or how many missions they completed... Their current system frustrates me more than makes me happy.

Guys, we have about 350 licenses that we are adding to the store soon in like 5 new apps, and we're getting more all the time. Plus our first mini-mission just started, and Mission 3 is set to debut in a little while. We're sorry about the lack of licenses, but without a well-known name or money to offer it's incredibly hard to get them... We're trying the best we can. Also, only 1 user has been banned and we will NEVER lose the database again. We lost it the first time because of a bug in the PunBB Migration Utility, which we are no longer using, and we are taking regular backups. So I don't see why you'd complain about that. Thanks for the feedback though, we appreciate it, and even negative comments can help us make it better for the next time. We'll try to get some unlimited apps for everyone to enjoy, so we're not having people upset about the store.

We will be replenishing the store for Mission 3.
And about those mission one agents... they might get a surprise.
Here's the thing about the forum being deleted... we had a bad database, and we had to rebuild. We are really sorry about it, but we had users dropping out of the database left and right.

Will the loot page be finished by then? I don't mean to nag, but I'm sure that given this crowd, people will be cheezed if they don't get their stuff right away (I don't mind the wait myself).

I mean, the loot page for the store is still non-functional; at least, the last time I tried to go to my loot page at the store, it still said that you were having trouble with it.
Anyway, I have to give you guys tremendous kudos for what you've done - you've been very open with the community, and you've tried your damndest to help things along when things got rough; and given you're "just a bunch of 11-14 year olds" I think you guys deserve more recognition for your efforts.

The loot page is not non-functional, we just have too many problems with it to use it... And just because the loot page doesn't work doesn't mean people aren't getting licenses. Everyone who's bought something in the first 4 days of the Mission has got something, the rest is coming very soon if it hasn't come already. And @apcs11 - Oh come on, it's even posted in a few places... Anyway, all you need to do is press the Amazon Badge in anyone's signature if they have more than ten posts.
Also, some of the new loot is coming very soon.

@ AriX, oh I understand that, and Chris has been unbelievably quick in giving me my licenses - but I'd think that not everyone is going to be as patient and as understanding as people like me. And like I said before, you've done an admirable job staying on top of things.

Yeah, so we haven't done anything in quite a while... We had a meeting about possible future plans recently, but it hasn't gone anywhere. Everyone is really busy with their various stuffs. Maybe we'll get around to it eventually, but I wouldn't expect anything anytime soon. We don't want to launch something really terrible and disappoint people like we did last time.
