It will come out eventually. Not to sound mean or anything but those of you complaining, I would like to see you design an application as complex as this one and release it without any hitches. It is a fact f life. They have run into problems and are working hard to fix them. Like all things, if you have patience they will come.

Funny, I just realized that instead of writing "wall of text" I could just respond the same way you did (to the question of MDA apps appearing) - as I would be willing to put money on some of them.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly.  I'd be betting with you, not against you.  And I would seriously put down money on the MDA apps getting done (not sure yet if I'd put as much on this app since I have less knowledge of the situation and people).

The term that makes more sense is 'Chimeraware'. 'Vapor' exists, Chimeras do not. Rather than being a piece of software with the head of a lion and serpents tail, the popular adjective 'Chimerical' which means something that is hoped and wished for but is illusory or impossible, will be used.

Yeah, Im just trying to keep the English language's wheels of evolution turning.

smile

But yeah, this app is definitely chimeraware.

Calling something Chimeraware just sounds you're trying to compare it to the early days of Camino.  Maybe I'm the only one here that remembers those days...

Hi everyone.

First off, I apologize for not being more active in this thread as of late. Secondly, and I hate to say it, but Safe Deposit doesn't look like it can get in shape for any sort of release.

You all deserve an explanation though: Safe Deposit was a multi-person effort, and things all wound up on me when the programmer left. I have been trying to get it done, but I am a designer – not a Cocoa programmer. We were *really* close to finishing, and that was why I had been so confident putting the web page up and letting you all know about it. Poof; My programmer left for personal issues. I then became hesitant posting in this thread because I was trying so hard to finish it, but at the same time didn't want to make any promises nor get into too much detail about the issues with the programmer (I was just keeping his personal issues private).

I hope you all can understand, but I don't think all the effort was in vain – I had also designed and implemented heists 5.5 and 6 at this same time, and it was great to see you all enjoy them as much as you did smile.

Thanks Ollie for thinking to post here. I hope that whatever is bothering your programmer, he can get over it soon.

Could you possibly open source what you've got so perhaps what's left could be finished by others?

i was thinking the same thing, but the problem with that is that the purpose of the app would be defeated tongue no more security if everybody knows how it works. kinda funny when i realized it. but hey if its not going to do anything but sit there forever why not give it out. smile

Not necessarily. GPG/MacGPG is open source, and arguably just as good as PGP.

I don't get it. Why try to finish it yourself if you're a designer, not a coder? Why not advertise an opening and try to collaborate with someone else? What with MDA and other indie efforts being so successful, there are no doubt plenty of indie Mac devs who might be interested in participating. No?

I bet you could sell it or get another programmer. If it's so far along... I think you could get some sales from it.

Open source. Music to my ears.

Ollie, perhaps you should consider making it open source? If the project is dead anyways, then why not?

Its just a suggestion though. The only problem is that its not really conducive to your financial wellbeing :(so its not really the best move i guess.
