The IRC lot are suggesting (!) that it might be a case of weaving the strips? (the text is cut into blocks, but the background into strips...). Or possibly printing double sided and then folding somehow!?

As best I could understand, "Katie and Heino Clemons" voicemail picked up when I edited out everything but the tones from the audio file and played the results into my phone.  I didn't leave a message, but I really hope they are a part of this, because they're going to be getting all kinds of calls if they are not...

Yeah, I only see cutting the blocks out and putting them together to form something cohesive.

Well, the PDF isn't even that straightfoward - it's cut into strips, and then the strips are cut into cubes at the top and bottom, with the middle bits cut in half.  It's giving me a headache just looking at it.  XD;;;

I agree, a cube or anything else would also make the exact same multidirectional text.  The picture just needs to be cut out and put together...

Maybe its a picture of the jellyfish video that the site showed temporarily while the mission was being added.

There are two pages to the PDF, but the blocks seem to be repeated.  For example, on one page there's a block with:

Walk 2 b
sign on
South ar

on the top row, second block from the right.

On the second page that exact same block is the 5th block down all the way to the right and turned upside down.

In other words, they're not showing different text, only a different arrangement.

It could be that weaving them together somehow would work, but I'm not quite sure how it'd be managed.

I think printing it out and using scissors is going to be faster!  I can't try it at the moment, but maybe someone wants to go the analog route in parallel with the photoshop work?

I started in photoshop, but it'll take like 30 minutes.

Close, not out of the question, just trying to eyeball how the text flows on a page of this pdf. I'm not sure which one you'd choose as the leftover - kind of like the screw that's sitting there after you put your Mac back together.

IRC latest: accordion folding but probably a no-go.
General consensus is, as here, cutting out the blocks and lining them up somehow (the backgrounds probably ought to match too).

Ah, jimsteph, good thinking though...

How about a reverse directory lookup (You do have those in the States, right? - no such thing in the UK).

503-608 is Beaverton, OR.  I can't match the last four digits, but it's the only Stark St. that looks like its in the proper area code and prefix.

I think that the pdf strips were woven to create the image - but I don't know that we can weave them to undo.  For what it's worth, I'm trying it in the real world.  I'll let you know how it goes.
