Either it is a "WE" in this heist, or it's not. Sure it takes more time to communicate back and forth, but we wouldn't be here if we didn't have time.

Again, "we" are expecting 3 clues later today; the 4th clue is available to the person who has the phone; the last "we" person to have that phone was you, who has a blemished heist record and trust issues. You want "we" to think differently, it's up to you.

this is not the "flame everyone who froze their a** off getting that phone in chicago" thread, so please, unless you can help us with this mini-heist, SHUT UP.

You are certainly correct that no one could have known that the Chicago phone would be used in a backup contact plan.

It just seems that with what happened in Chicago (by a certain moderator), coupled with the IRC shenanigans that day, and the same certain moderator's recent forum antics have thrown a pall over the whole MacHeist II.

Despite all the complaint's about this certain moderator, nothing has been done about it.

Maybe the Directorate is too busy counting how much they will make with the 91% share of the proceeds from MacHeist II to notice how one moderator is ruining the whole experience for lots of people.

But this is real life and the MacHeist Directorate can do as they please.  The only real way to show displeasure is with your wallet.

Oh, come on. And what exactly have *you* done for the MH community, except bash someone over the internet just because they haven't lived up to your overly-inflated notion of who a mod should be? You are taking this way, way, way too seriously. It's just a game. Grow up.

EDIT: Sorry, that was made out to the two naysayers earlier in the thread. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

When a Moderator calls people thieves and whores, then I don't think I'm taking it too seriously.

But like I said earlier, I'll take the freebies, write to all the developers why I won't buy their products, and defiantly not give MacHeist any of my money for a bundle.

It's a we because there was a group.  WE ALL decided that the phone was finished.  Right now, we're not to blame for missing the first clue.  That's because the Berliners let us down.

That is incorrect. He wasn't the one who kept the phone (which, again, was an arbitrary keepsake after the Philly ARG heist anyway). The WE he spoke of was the Philly heist team.

Calm down, buddy. You're not helping.

It was Chicago, but thanks anyway.

Many of the complaints are unfounded and I've apologized multiple times for what happened.  If you can't accept a honest apology, I feel bad for you.  I screwed up and I know it.  Leave it out of it now.  We're focusing on this miniheist, we need to get meet-ups in the cities and I'll keep an eye out for the guy who has the phone.  I'm sorry, but it's all I can do.

Win. Now, let's get back to it. As I understand, we still have the problem of not knowing where the phone is, nor the user who has it. Correct?

You know that was the same line of reasoning that you used in the Chicago deal.  You were so experienced that you just didn't have time to lower yourself to anyone else's level.

It doesn't take a post count of 2,000 and a membership length of 2 years to know that calling people, who MacHeist wants to spend money with them, "Whores and Thieves" is a bad thing.

It doesn't require Vulcan logic to look at all the responses about your behavior in Chicago, all the insults you've been slinging around, to determine that people are are not interested anymore.

Ok. What the hell is going on?

Come on people, this is meant to be fun. There is one macheister that happens to have that mobile phone (which I'm pretty certain was just kept as a keepsake and it's not part of a master plan to annoy anyone). What we need to do is try to work out how we're going to get hold of that macheister to make sure he'll pick up the phone when it rings. If that doesn't work out I'm sure the directorate will think of a 3rd solution.

At the end of the day, this is a game, remember?

Do we have any news about mav and the phone anyway?

Warbrain don't take offense to this, but I think a lot of peoples issue with you is that you appear to be a cocky know it all. When you got the chance to participate and the heist didn't go very smoothly people thought "ha, that cocky SOB can't back up his talk".

That is simply my analysis of the situation. You may have apologized but your attitude throws people off sometimes.

Please understand that I am not trying to fuel the flames or put you down, I am simply trying to provide an understanding of some of these peoples attitudes toward you. As negative and unhelpful as they are it makes them feel better to put you down. Most especially since you became a moderator.

I have been attempting to ring you in Berlin for the last twenty minutes with no success.

On second thought I can't believe this ... I can't believe that in Berlin nobody answers a phone that's ringing that long ... even on the street. I know Berlin and the people there ... that's almost not possible that noone answers that damn phone...

Just me thinking.

I know who has it but I don't know where he is and he's not in the IRC.

Congratulations Agent, for reading this thread to this point!

In case your mind has gone numb from all of the finger-pointing, and flaming, here is a recap of the last 4 pages of posts:

1. There was a scheduled drop in Berlin, but no agents made it to the site.
2. The mole has given us a Plan B, which involves the Cell Phone used in the Chicago Mini Heist.
3. One of the Agents involved in the Chicago heist has the cell phone, but nobody knows how to contact him, except through his IRC nick: mav728.
4. The phone will ring at 21:00 ET.  If it is not answered, it is unclear on the next step.
5. There are 3 other locations where drops will happen in North America.
6. This is a _game_ people.  Have Fun.
7. The Troll that started the flame war has an avatar that looks like a D!*k-face. :-)

Cheers,
Wolf

In theory, theory and practice are the same, in practice, they are not.
