if downloaded, do the file names for these photos contain a clue, or is there info from the pics if they're run through the battery of tests other heisters seem to be able to do?

That doesn't seem as likely, since these photos are from various sources and pre-date the heist quite a bit. I'm still thinking there's a theme we're missing, or that we're just spinning our wheels until the next heist starts, if there will in fact be one.

Um, I don't think I made myself very clear: Drag the picture to the right (or down) to the edge of the webpage. In safari at least, the page will expand.

That's right - and it's how it's supposed to work. I'm not saying that there's any heist-related purpose behind it, but it's going to do that. You are, in effect, making the page larger.

Of course, the photos have been anthropomorphized. If they have anything to do with the plot they're possibly related to the mole. Here are annagrams of "the thing". Thinking outside the box.

I opened the PDF with text edit and nothing jumped out at me. MHI used that kind of thing to hide urls and what not rather frequently. Is there another program that would be able to see either metadata or more raw data than text edit?

So, if the words mean anything here, then "thing" could mean "night"?
And with the fortuneteller, all the outher words "Bow", "Sword", "Hammer" and "Mace" are all medieval weapons.

Are this normal ranges?

I think those are just the dimensions of the document - doubtful that it'll be of any use to us though. We might be waiting at this point for further information.

Dawn - Great work in finding the pictures. Sherlock Holmes would be proud!

I have been working on the illustration with PS to see if there is something that was reworked into it. I have changed the hues, saturation, colors and as of yet no eureka moments. They were definitely taken from the photos and reworked as an illustration.

I am of the opinion that the object on the right is for attaching the axle suspension spring assembly to a frame on a large vehicle.

If you're right that means we have a bumper and a suspension part, maybe this has something to do with the rack, pinion in the FT....?

The mission mentions a backdoor to the research and development and in brackets RYGB, red yellow green blue?

Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue are the official colors of the Microsoft logo.

If you visit http://MS-RandD.com/ in Safari or Firefox on a Mac, you won't see anything. But ... if you log on using IE in Windows, you get a PassCode bar at the top, and an entry field with a button that says "Validate." (Ha! I knew there was a reason for having a Dell at home!) But I haven't figured out what to type in the Validate box yet.

I think you're on to something Kranque.  Only problem is, I don't know a damn thing about baseball.  Anybody recently suspended from baseball that could possibly have any relation to medieval weapons? Also for those with Firefox if you install the "web developer toolbar" and disable the css you get the input field.  My guess is that the fortune teller gives us the password to the "MS RandD" site.

Just an FYI, Rack and Pinion in the context of cars would be the steering not the suspension.

To me these would fit better with the others as 'medieval' terms.
